In a world that measures worth by output, sitting still is a radical act of resistance.

Years in automotive consulting taught me that every minute was a billable unit. The pace never slowed; it was all static. Shifting into the lapidary workshop and the PNW woods revealed a different truth: you can't rush the stone. Real growth happens in the deliberate pause, like the moment before a diamond blade touches the rough. In that stillness, the dust settles, and you see the true character of the material: and yourself.

Showing up to sit face-to-face, without an agenda or a digital screen, is how we reclaim our agency. We aren't here to be productive; we're here to be present. That’s the signal we’re looking for. It’s the counter-culture of the seat: choosing depth over speed.
