Think power is just about swinging harder? Let's look at the actual physics of it. 💥

Power = Work / Time

If you want to hit the ball with more power, you have two options: increase your "Work" or decrease your "Time."

1️⃣ Increasing Work (Improving Strength & Efficiency)

Increasing work doesn't mean aimlessly smashing hundreds of balls at the range until your back hurts. It means working efficiently. When you optimize your biomechanics and build functional strength, you groove better movement habits. This allows your body to safely apply more force into the ground and through the ball. Better habits + more strength = More Power.

2️⃣ Decreasing Time (Increasing Speed)

Decreasing the time it takes to move the club from the top of your swing through impact equals speed. But here is the catch: true, injury-free speed is only built through high-quality repetition. You cannot just swing out of your shoes. When you accumulate perfect reps, your nervous system begins to trust your mechanics. Only then do the internal "brakes" come off, allowing you to generate massive clubhead speed effectively and safely.

By increasing your strength and efficiency (Increased Work), and/or safely increasing your swing speed (Decreased Time), and you can generate Power that will completely change your game.

If you are ready to stop guessing and start building real, measurable power, drop a "POWER" in the comments below or DM us to book your Golf Performance Evaluation at Benandi PT. Let's get to work! 🏌️‍♂️

If you are constantly stretching, foam rolling, or massaging your lower back just to make it through the week, you are treating the victim and ignoring the culprit.

In human movement, we live by one simple rule: Compensation vs. Capacity.

Your lower back is designed for stability. Your hips and your mid-back are designed for massive mobility and force capacity.

But when your hips lock up from sitting at a desk, or lose their power from past injuries, your body still has to get the job done. It follows the path of least resistance and forces your lower back to compensate. Your back isn't tight because it needs to be stretched; it's tight because it is overworked, exhausted, and taking the bullet for your hips.

For the athlete: Compensation means you are bleeding power and losing speed.

For the weekend warrior: It means waking up stiff and sitting out of the activities you love.

For the person who has "tried everything": Low capacity of the suspects is exactly why your tightness always comes back three days after a massage or adjustment.

You don't need to stretch a compensating lower back. You need to rebuild the capacity of the joints around it so your back can finally rest.

Stop chasing symptoms and let's find the root cause.

There is no such thing as one "perfect" way to squat. But, there is a right way to squat for your specific goals.

I spent this past weekend at an advanced clinical course diving deep into squat mechanics and glute engagement. My biggest takeaway? How you move dictates exactly what muscles you build and what joints you are punishing.

Here is what your squat is actually telling you:

1. The Spine Strategy (Bent Forward)
If you are rounding your spine and dumping your chest forward, you are completely bypassing your glutes and quads. Instead, you are forcing your lower back to take all the load. (If your back always hurts after leg day, this might be the reason why!)

2. The Knee Strategy (Vertical Spine / Knees Over Toes)
If you are staying highly vertical and letting your knees travel forward, you are placing massive demand on your quads. This is a great strategy if your goal is quad development.

3. The Hip Strategy (Hinging Back)
If you struggle to feel your glutes working, this is the strategy you need. Pushing the hips back recruits the glutes and posterior chain to drive the movement.

The goal of your training shouldn't be to blindly copy someone else's form. It should be specific to what your body actually needs.

If you have been having a hard time progressing your squats, or if you constantly feel tight and achy after training, you have a power leak somewhere in your mechanics.

Stop guessing and let's find the leak. Hit the link in my bio to schedule a Strategy Call to connect and learn more about how I can support you and your goals.

Element No. 3 of a high-performance swing: STRENGTH. 🏋️‍♀️

Strength in the gym doesn't mean getting bulky - it means building raw force capacity and giving yourself the building blocks for longevity on the course.

If your glutes, hips, and legs cannot produce and absorb force efficiently, your body will compensate. That means lost yardage, tight lower backs, and ultimately... bad golf!

Stop letting hidden strength deficits rob your power and durability.

Elemental Golf Performance | Element No. 2: Stability ⛳️

One of the most important elements for a consistent golf swing is Stability. Speed and power are only generated when you have a solid base.

Before you hit the range and start swinging out of your shoes, you need to connect to your base to get that foundational stability online. Engaging your quads, hamstrings, glutes, and core will prime your system for a comfortable, high-quality practice session.

👇 Save this routine and run through 1-2 minutes of each movement before your next tee time or range session:

1️⃣ Overhead Squat with Club: Activates the core and challenges shoulder mobility.

2️⃣ Hip Hinges: Wakes up the hamstrings and glutes which are non-negotiable in your swing.

3️⃣ Squat Rotations: Trains upper/lower body separation and gets your obliques fired up.

What does a session actually look like at Benandi PT? (Hint: No crowded waiting rooms, no overlapping patients, and no rushed appointments).

When I built this practice, I wanted to completely change the standard of care for golfers and active adults in Pasadena. Here is a look inside the space where we make that happen:

👉 Swipe 1: That’s me. When you sit in that chair across from my desk, you get 100% of my attention. This is where we break down what’s going on, look at your goals, and build the actual blueprint to get you there.

👉 Swipe 2: The Clinic Room. This is where the clinical work happens. Completely private, 1-on-1 time to assess your movement, treat your symptoms, and get your body moving the way it's supposed to.

👉 Swipe 3: The Performance Floor (Reflex Performance). This is where we bridge the gap between rehab and performance. We don't just help you become symptom-free; we step out onto the turf to get a weight in your hands, build real strength, and make sure your body is resilient.

The vibe here is simple: Private. Focused. Goal-oriented.

If you're ready for a personalized standard of care that actually translates to your performance, let's connect.

Welcome to Elemental Golf Performance—the division of Benandi PT dedicated entirely to unlocking consistency, power, and longevity on the golf course.

To build a world-class game, we break performance down into its foundational elements.

Element No. 1: Mobility.

You can spend thousands on golf lessons, but if your hips can’t internally rotate and your thoracic spine is locked up, your body will physically cheat to find that backswing depth. The result? Compensations, early extension, losing your posture, and eventual back or shoulder pain.

Before you chase speed, timing, or strength, you must first clear the physical restrictions blocking your movement.

Our performance programs run on a high-leverage, biweekly cadence. We assess your specific physical blocks, build your custom mobility roadmap, and give you the physical freedom to actually implement it on the range.

🎯 Pasadena and LA Golfers: If you feel stuck, you’re losing power, and you aren't enjoying the game like you should, let’s map out a plan.

It’s been a minute... okay, more like over 2 years. 👋

If you’ve been wondering why I’ve been so quiet on here, I’ve been heads-down in the clinic, pouring all my energy into my patients and dialing in exactly how I want to share my clinical knowledge and approach to movement with you all.

Today, I'm pumped to announce two big updates:

1️⃣ Our new website is live. (Link in my bio!)

2️⃣ Introducing Elemental Golf Performance: This is the brand new golf portion of my business. (Swipe to see a sneak peek!) Over the last couple of years, I’ve seen exactly what local golfers need: not just to get out of pain, but to add speed, swing freely, and play for life. Elemental is the system to get you there.

Going forward, I'll be sharing a lot more practical mobility tips, breaking down the mechanics of the golf swing, and giving you a deeper look into how we actually do things here at Benandi PT.

Drop a ⛳️ or a 👋 in the comments if you're still here, and let me know what golf or mobility issues you want me to cover first!
