In honor of Memorial Day, a few words from our President and CEO Gary Attman.
"As we celebrate Memorial Day with traditional summer barbecues, family get-togethers, and a celebration of summer, it is good to remember its roots. Memorial Day grew out of the devastation of the Civil War and was established shortly thereafter as a way to honor the fallen soldiers as well as the war veterans who had sacrificed so much for our country.
On this day, I personally remember two individuals who fought for our country. My father Edward Attman defended our country during World War II in North Africa and Italy. And my grandfather Abraham Cohan, who was a new citizen, fought in the battle of Verdun and other intense battles in World War I.
I’m also thinking about the many veterans that we have at FutureCare, both as team members and patients. If you know one of them, please take a minute and thank them for their service. Freedom is a great thing to have, but it doesn’t come easily. It takes work and sacrifice, sometimes the ultimate sacrifice. That is what we are memorializing today."
