Central Coast Lavender California Lavender Living™. Rooted in Lavender. Shaped by Season™. The quiet practice of an ordinary day.

Estate-grown lavender, steam distilled in a copper alembic pot still, thoughtfully made in the wine country of Paso Robles, California, since 2006. Central Coast Lavender Farm and Apothecary is a Paso Robles based health and beauty company. Founded in 2006 as a modern day lavender farm, distillery and apothecary, our products are medicinally focused and remedy based. CCL products are thoughtfully created and fueled by the healing power of botanicals and herbs. At Central Coast Lavender we seek balance between functionality and indulgence throughout our entire product line. Central Coast Lavender apothecary products are crafted in small batches in our manufacturing lab. With a strong commitment to luxury, only the highest quality ingredients go into our products. That means no drying sulfates, harsh parabens, or harmful fragrances. We believe that products should be both mindful and luxurious without compromise. The Beauty Nature Has To Offer
The chemicals that make common commercial products function are often bad for both your body and the environment. The cosmetics industry pours vast amounts of these chemicals into their personal care products because, to date, there is little or no required testing, monitoring of health effects, or even labeling requirements to prevent them from doing so and the general public is often unaware of their usage entirely. Central Coast Lavender's goal is to provide our customers with the safest alternatives to the harmful chemicals used in most cosmetics. By producing our products in small batches we can ensure that only the highest quality ingredients are used. We are continually researching and adding to our ingredient list making sure we are using the best and latest green alternative ingredients we can.

On this Thankful Thursday, I want to lift up those in our industry who have dedicated their lives to studying, teaching and helping the rest of us grow. To the researchers, educators and mentors who share their knowledge so generously, thank you.

I am proud and grateful to have completed “Nose-to-Brain: CNS Disorders and Essential Oils” with the Tisserand Institute. Thank you, Robert and Hannah, for continuing to bring new research into our understanding of essential oils.

My own studies began years ago, including my aromatherapy certification and formulation studies back in 2009. That science has been part of my work and my personal health journey ever since. This course expanded that foundation, deepening my understanding of the processes and mechanisms behind what I have studied and experienced with lavender for nearly 20 years.

It means so much to continue learning from people whose work has helped shape my own. Today, I am thankful for that knowledge, for those who share it, and for the opportunity to carry it forward in my work.

With love,
Lila

A little lavender goes a long way.

Tuck a lavender sachet among folded linens or into a drawer for a simple, familiar touch of scent. A gentle squeeze refreshes the lavender.

Bring a little lavender to your everyday linen cupboard. Find our sachets in the first comment.

Part two of The Story of Scent.

Meet Gattefossé.
Before his name meant aromatherapy, he was a chemist who went to the lavender growers and learned from their hands. The bond between the one who grows and the one who studies is the thread I have followed for twenty years here at Central Coast Lavender.
Part two of the series. The laboratory accident comes next.
From flower to feeling.

The moments no one else sees.
A hot shower. Hands and arms cared for before the day asks everything of you. Lavender becoming part of the rhythm of an ordinary day.

The day is finally yours again.

Dim the lights. Leave the phone in another room. This part belongs to no one else.

A drop of English lavender in the palms, cupped, and one slow breath for a count of four.

Then a light mist over the pillow.

One drop is all it takes. A 10 mL bottle holds about 300 drops, so an evening like this costs about thirteen cents.

Daily Lavender Rituals holds the distiller's drops math and two recipes from the estate's aromatherapist, developed and used over twenty years.

What finally tells you the day is done?

Before aromatherapy had a name, lavender already had a story.

A new series from Central Coast Lavender begins with René-Maurice Gattefossé and continues into essential oils, scent and everyday rituals.

Monday Mentions: a few handwritten words can belong with the lavender.

Who shared it? What do we remember about that season? A note tucked beside a bundle keeps the person in the story.

An idea from The October Turn, in California Lavender Living:

Make a thoughtful lavender gift with a handwritten story, a photograph, and clear information about the plant or bundle.

A Sunday thought for The October Turn: we can tend what comes next without rushing past what is here.

A little time with the lavender, a look at the changing light, a moment left unfilled.

What are you noticing this October?

For decades, I’ve welcomed your lavender questions at farmers markets, festivals and here at the farm. Those conversations have always meant the world to me, and sharing the gift of lavender remains one of my greatest passions.

As part of our 20th anniversary, we’ve created a new way to reconnect, talk and discover together once again.

Meet the Lavender Concierge, your guide to all things lavender. Explore everyday lavender rituals, thoughtful handcrafted gifts, my personal home spa ideas and lessons from twenty years of growing lavender here in Paso Robles. You can also book a personal one-on-one conversation with me.

My intention has always been, and continues to be, to share the gift of lavender with others. I look forward to continuing that conversation with you.

With love,
Lila
