🌿 Regulation Room Exercise of the Day

"The Safety Signal Reset"

Many of us spend years teaching our bodies to expect danger.

Today, we're going to practice teaching the body something different.

Step 1

Place one hand on your heart and one hand on your stomach.

Step 2

Take a slow breath in through your nose for 4 seconds.

Step 3

Exhale slowly through your mouth for 6 seconds.

Step 4

As you exhale, quietly say:

"In this moment, I am safe."

Step 5

Look around the room and find:

3 things you can see

2 things you can touch

1 thing you can hear

Step 6

Finish by asking yourself:

"What is actually happening right now?"

Not yesterday. Not tomorrow. Not the story. Just right now.

Repeat for 2 minutes.

✨ This exercise helps interrupt survival mode and reminds the nervous system that the present moment is not the past.

---

Today's Reminder

You don't have to earn rest.

You don't have to prove your worth.

You don't have to stay hypervigilant to stay safe.

Your body deserves moments of peace, too.

🌕 REGULATION ROOM BLUE MOON EXERCISE 🌕

The Release & Receive Reset

Tonight, under the Blue Moon, give yourself 5 quiet minutes.

✨ Step 1: Ground
Stand barefoot outside if possible, or place both feet firmly on the floor.

Take 5 slow breaths.

Breathe in through your nose for 4 counts.
Exhale slowly through your mouth for 6 counts.

Longer exhales tell your nervous system:
"I am safe."

✨ Step 2: Release
Place one hand on your heart and one on your stomach.

Ask yourself:

"What am I carrying that I no longer need to carry?"

Without judging it, name it.

Fear.
Worry.
Guilt.
Resentment.
Pressure.
Self-doubt.

Imagine the moonlight gently lifting it from your body with each exhale.

✨ Step 3: Receive
Now ask:

"What would I like to make room for instead?"

Peace.
Trust.
Love.
Abundance.
Joy.
Rest.
Clarity.

With each inhale, imagine that feeling filling your chest.

✨ Step 4: Anchor
Place both hands over your heart and say:

"I release what no longer serves me.
I welcome what supports my growth.
My body is learning safety.
My heart is open.
I am ready for my next chapter."

Take one final deep breath.

Notice what feels different.

🌕 Remember:
The moon doesn't change you.

It simply gives you a moment to pause long enough to notice what is already changing within you.

✨ Regulation Room ✨
by Becky Fitzgerald

Healing is not always about becoming someone new.

Sometimes healing is remembering who you were before survival taught you to hide.

Before the people-pleasing.
Before the overthinking.
Before the hypervigilance.
Before the self-doubt.
Before carrying responsibilities that were never yours to carry.

The real you was never broken.

The real you simply learned how to survive.

And survival is not a character flaw.
It is evidence of your resilience.

But there comes a point in healing where the nervous system begins asking a different question:

"What if I don't have to survive today?"

What if you are allowed to:
🌿 rest without guilt
🌿 laugh without waiting for something bad to happen
🌿 receive love without earning it
🌿 have boundaries without apologizing
🌿 choose peace without explaining yourself

The truth is...

Many of us became so familiar with struggle that peace feels unfamiliar.

But unfamiliar does not mean unsafe.

It simply means your nervous system is learning a new way of being.

A softer way.
A safer way.
A more authentic way.

🌊 Regulation Reminder 🌊

You do not have to become someone else to heal.

You only have to become safe enough to be yourself again.

And that version of you has been waiting patiently the entire time. 🌿✨

You Don't Have To Carry It All

Somewhere along the way

I learned to carry everything.

The worry.

The responsibility.

The heartbreak.

The things that belonged to me

and the things that never did.

I carried people.

I carried outcomes.

I carried tomorrow

before today had even arrived.

My shoulders rose

without me noticing.

My jaw tightened.

My breath grew shallow.

And I called it strength.

But healing taught me something different.

Strength is not carrying the weight of the world.

Strength is knowing when to set it down.

Strength is letting your shoulders soften.

Letting your breath return.

Letting your body remember

that not every moment is an emergency.

Not every silence is danger.

Not every unknown requires fear.

Today I release what was never mine to hold.

The past can stay where it belongs.

Tomorrow can wait its turn.

This moment is enough.

This breath is enough.

And for a little while,

I will stop carrying the world

and simply carry myself.

Gently.

Patiently.

With love.
