Gypsy Rising was born from a desire to empower and uplift our community one yoga class at a time. The vision is to harness the power of the practice to make a meaningful impact in Pekin and beyond. Through a variety of meaningful practices, we hope to help people connect with themselves and awaken to their full possibility. A Gypsy Soul is a person who is full of energy and wants to live life in t

heir own terms. They harness the spirit and rise from within. At Gypsy Rising, we want you to awaken to your own power and possibility. Amanda began practicing yoga in 2011 while living in Marietta, GA and received her 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training in 2019 at OM on the River in Peoria, IL. In addition, she has over 400+Hours of Teaching Experience, 4+Hours of CEU credit for Yoga for Seniors and 4.5 Hours of IAYT (Yoga Therapy Credits) and is just getting started. She is a mother, a wife, a yogi and a forever gypsy.

After two rounds of our Chair to Mat series, I’m so excited to officially welcome this class to the regular schedule starting Thursday, June 18th at 11:00a💛

This class was born from conversations I have every week.

For the Chair Yogis curious about exploring life on the mat.

For the people who tell me, “I’d love to try yoga, but I’m not sure where to start.”

Chair to Mat bridges that gap.

Together, we'll break down common yoga poses, build confidence, and explore ways to move between chair and mat options at your own pace. No pressure. No expectation to keep up. Just an opportunity to learn, grow, and discover what's possible.

Whether your goal is to join a Gentle Yoga class, try Vinyasa someday, or simply feel more comfortable getting up and down from the floor, this class is for you.

Wait...that's yoga?

We're hearing a lot about calisthenics and bodyweight training lately.

And honestly, there are a lot of similarities.

Planks. Holds. Core work. Shoulder stability. Mobility. Endurance. Mental grit.

Then we add 100° heat and infrared panels that support circulation, flexibility, recovery, and overall wellness.

But here's the thing...

Anyone can do push-ups at home.

Anyone can hold a plank in their living room.

What they can't always do is push themselves beyond the limits they've placed on their own mind.

That's where I come in.

My role isn't to count reps or demand perfection.

It's to uplift you.
Encourage you.
Challenge you.
Remind you what's possible.

To help you grow stronger in your body and steadier in your mind.

To help you discover that you're capable of more than you thought.

Because when you learn to stay calm in the heat...
When you learn to breathe through discomfort...
When you learn to trust yourself when things get hard...

Something starts to change.

You begin to feel unstoppable.
You become a little more unshakeable.

THAT is Power Yoga.

✨ Wellness Wednesday (a day late… and that’s okay.) ✨
Yesterday I had too many things on my plate.
And instead of forcing myself to get this post up “on time,” I decided to let something go.

I also haven’t posted the last day of school pictures.
The award photos.
The track meet moments.
The endless little things that somehow start to feel big when they all pile up at once.

And honestly? I’m okay with that. I'll get them done.

Right now I’m trying to focus more on being there than documenting everything perfectly.

Because the truth is… there will always be something fighting for your mental space.
Big things. Small things. Notifications. Pressure. Expectations. Noise.

It won’t stop.

But we can learn how to move through it.

We can give ourselves a break.
We can step away from the pressure.
We can revisit the task later with a clearer mind.

And for me, MOVEMENT will always be my favorite way to work through the kinks.

Not just the physical tension.
The mental kinks too.

Get quiet.
Move your body.
Breathe deeply.

And somehow clarity usually finds its way back in.

Protect your peace.

This Wellness Wednesday is brought to you from the bleachers of a sectional track meet for my high school son.

We’ve talked about self-regulation. We’ve talked about meditation. This week, we’re keeping it simple.

Gratitude.

No trending techniques. No perfectly designed Canva post. Just intention.

Taking time to be grateful for what you have — even while you’re still striving for more.

When life feels overwhelming… pause. Breathe. Notice.

The trees. A beautiful day. The laughter in your home. How far you’ve come. How far the people you love have come.

I catch myself getting swept away sometimes by growth, what’s next, and goals for the studio. But there was once a version of me who thought having something of my own was outrageous and unattainable. I recently found old notebook pages where I had written about wanting purpose, impact, and work that lit me up.

And now? Here we are.

Grateful.

I loved hearing the astronauts talk about seeing Earth from space — how miraculous and magnificent our planet is. Imagine being in awe of simply being here.

And honestly? Constant scrolling can pull us so deeply into comparison. It happens to me too, and I’m working hard on rewriting those stories in my own mind. It’s hard to feel grateful and grounded when you’re focused on everyone else’s version of happiness or enough.

Gratitude does so much for your mental health and heart space because it brings you back home to your actual life. Your actual people. Your actual moments.

Back to your breath.
Back to what’s good.
Back to yourself.

As our studio continues to grow, we’re adding more classes to help ensure everyone gets the chance to practice and get into class this summer.

With that growth, we kindly ask that you refrain from booking back-to-back classes unless spots remain available that specific day. This helps open space for more members during our busiest times, and we truly appreciate everyone being mindful of our community as a whole 💛

✨ Summer schedule additions begin the week of June 15th ✨

We’re excited to bring you more opportunities to move this summer — including the return of a favorite format, new non-heated options, expanded strength offerings (two times to choose from on Monday), outdoor classes, and a brand new permanent addition to the schedule. More are coming....
