Behind Little Bright Stars are two educators, Nora and Sarah, who share a passion for helping children learn, grow, and believe in themselves. ❤️

With master’s degrees in Education and Special Education, we understand that every child learns differently. That’s why we focus on meeting students where they are, strengthening their foundational skills, and celebrating every step of their progress.

From reading and phonics to writing and math, our goal is to create a supportive learning environment where children feel confident, encouraged, and excited to learn. 📚✏️

Community, connection & understanding. 💛⭐️

Little Bright Stars had the opportunity to partner with Greenway Family Success Center for our parent workshop, “Knowing Is Not Understanding: Understanding Your Child & How Your Child Learns.”

We spent the evening talking about looking beyond what we see on the surface — whether that means understanding what may be underneath a child’s behavior or recognizing the difference between a child knowing an answer and truly understanding a concept.

Our biggest takeaway: sometimes we have to ask one more question, look a little deeper, and give our children the opportunity to show us what they’re thinking. ❤️

While parents participated in the workshop, we also provided activities for the children to create, build, explore, and play. ⭐️

A huge thank you to Greenway Family Success Center for welcoming Little Bright Stars and giving us the opportunity to connect with families in the community. We truly enjoyed the evening and look forward to continuing to support children and families together!

✨ Welcome to a New Chapter at Little Bright Stars Academic Enrichment Center! ✨
Hi! We’re Nora and Sarah, the founders of Little Bright Stars. 👋
Over the past several months, we’ve taken time to reflect on our vision and where we can make the biggest impact. As we begin this new chapter, we’ve decided to focus exclusively on academic enrichment for students in Pre-K through 5th grade.
Our passion is helping children build strong foundations in reading, writing, and math using hands-on, interactive learning while growing the confidence they need to succeed in school!
Whether your child needs extra support to close learning gaps, wants to strengthen their skills, or is looking for an extra challenge, we’re here to meet them where they are (in tailored 1-on-1 or small group settings) and help them reach their full potential.

Stop the ‘Summer Slide’ without the screen time. 📚✨
Starting July 6, Little Bright Stars is launching our 7-week summer tutoring program right here in Perth Amboy. We don’t do screens, and we don’t do boring, one-size-fits-all worksheets. We use traditional, hands-on tools like letter tiles, sand trays, and counting blocks—to make reading and math click.
Whether your child needs to close a gap from last year or wants to build massive confidence for the next grade, we design an individualized plan just for them.

You made it to the weekend. 🤍. The end of the school year is a chaotic, beautiful, and exhausting rush for families. Between the final projects, the schedule changes, and thinking about the months ahead, parents are carrying a lot right now.
So today, there’s no checklist, no teaching tips, and no pressure.
Just a reminder that you are doing an amazing job. This weekend, I hope you get to slow down, let the kids just be kids, and take a well-deserved breather yourself.

Let’s take a deep breath together. 🤍 As the school year wraps up, a lot of families are carrying a hidden stress. You look at the report cards, the upcoming grade expectations, or the summer reading lists, and you realize your child just isn’t quite where they need to be yet.
Maybe they are heading into 3rd grade but still working on a 1st-grade reading level. Maybe letter directions are still a daily mix-up, or simple sound blends are a barrier. Or maybe they just need extra patience and practice following directions.
School classrooms move incredibly fast. If a single foundational brick is missed early on, everything built on top of it starts to feel shaky for them.
That is exactly why I designed our summer program the way I did. We don’t rush, and we don’t try to force a child onto a level they aren’t ready for yet. Instead, we slow entirely down. We use hands-on, tactile tools—like tracing letters and tracking sounds with pompoms—to fill in those missing pieces from the ground up.
If you are quietly trying to figure out how to help your child feel confident for the next school year, you don’t have to carry that stress alone. Let’s use these next few weeks to give them a solid, steady foundation. ☀️✏️
