REPOST Thank you Alexia .black, Ariel, and the American Heart Association for hosting, leading, and instructing Doulas and Midwives in BLS/CPR for Pediatrics and Adolescents.

Throughout the workshop we were taught how to identify and respond to the signs of cardiac arrest, learned how to use an AED machine, how to assist someone who is choking, how to assist someone who is drowning, how to assist with an accident, how to serve in a natural disaster, how to save a life in a classroom, workplace, anywhere!

Being trained in BLS/CPR provides the knowledge, confidence, and life-saving skills to stay calm, to provide efficient care, to promote a sense of safety in a medical emergency to a person(s) in need!

I am now BLS/CPR certified through the American Heart Association (AHA) ❤️

💦During labor, your baby's body releases chemicals to help their lungs push out the fluid.

💦The pressure of the birth canal on your baby's chest also releases fluid from their lungs.

💦After birth, your baby's cough, as well as air filling their lungs,  should expel the remaining amniotic fluid.
