Our LifeWorks Literacy Coach has transformed the classroom into a welcoming, engaging space designed to inspire a lifelong love of reading! By thoughtfully offering a variety of books and reading materials, students are encouraged to explore topics that match their interests, reading levels and learning goals. This student-centered environment promotes choice, curiosity and active engagement, helping each learner build confidence and develop essential literacy skills.

Setting goals, building futures. Our students are taking time to reflect on where they are today and where they want to be tomorrow. Through goal-setting activities, they identified meaningful personal goals, including improving their grades, working toward graduation and making positive changes in their behavior.

We are proud of the self-awareness, determination and motivation they are demonstrating. By recognizing areas for growth and taking ownership of their choices, these students are laying the foundation for future success.

Every step forward matters and we are excited to support them as they work toward achieving their goals.

Our students are making music while learning key musical concepts, including whole notes, half notes, rhythm and tempo! Through hands-on activities and movement, students practiced identifying different note values, keeping a steady beat and exploring how music can change from slow to fast. These engaging lessons help build foundational music skills while encouraging creativity, confidence and collaboration.

We were privileged to welcome Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick to Foundations Behavioral Health for a meaningful and engaging visit. Having visited us previously, Congressman Fitzpatrick picked up right where those earlier conversations left off, demonstrating his continued interest in the behavioral healthcare challenges and opportunities facing our communities.

During his visit, he spent time learning more about our programs, discussing key issues impacting healthcare and exploring ways to support positive change across the healthcare landscape. We appreciate the opportunity to share our mission and the important work being done every day to support the individuals and families we serve. Thank you, Congressman Fitzpatrick, for taking the time to visit and engage in these important conversations. We look forward to continuing the dialogue and working together to advance access to quality behavioral healthcare.

Our students got hands-on with science as they explored the properties of materials by creating their own kinetic sand. They measured, mixed and combined ingredients while learning key scientific concepts in a fun and engaging way.

Best of all, the activity provided plenty of opportunities for sensory exploration, making learning both educational and enjoyable.

We wrapped up our final week of our Extended School Year (ESY) with exciting trips to Thunderbird Lanes and Urban Air! Students had a blast at both locations and enjoyed spending their last few moments of the summer together making memories and having fun. Our Life Skills students also participated in a Community-Based Instruction (CBI) trip to Dollar General, where they practiced important real-world skills such as money math, budgeting, making purchases and decision-making.

We love seeing our students build confidence, independence and life skills through meaningful, hands-on experiences both in and out of the classroom. What a great way to end an amazing ESY program!

Our Life Skills students put their creativity and problem-solving skills to work during today’s STEM activity by making their own sidewalk chalk paint! Students measured, mixed and experimented with different colors and consistencies while learning through hands-on exploration.

The creativity didn't stop there. This week, students also completed art projects that included designing and building their own boats and creating personalized picture frames. We’re proud of their hard work, imagination, and willingness to try new things!
