Let’s talk about something a lot of new moms experience but don’t always feel comfortable bringing up...
..the emotional rollercoaster after having a baby. You’ve probably heard of both the “baby blues” and postpartum depression, but what’s the difference? 🤔
Baby blues are super common and tend to show up a few days after birth. You might feel weepy, overwhelmed, or even a little anxious, but these feelings usually pass after a couple of weeks. I remember crying over the smallest things, like the way my coffee tasted, and then laughing about it five minutes later. Totally normal. 😂
Postpartum depression, on the other hand, is more intense and sticks around longer. It’s not just mood swings—it’s deep feelings of sadness, hopelessness, or even detachment from your baby. If these feelings last more than two weeks or start to interfere with your day-to-day, it’s important to reach out for support. You’re not alone, and help is available. ❤️
Whether it’s baby blues or postpartum depression, don’t be afraid to speak up. You deserve to feel supported and heard.
