Thank you to KNOW Phoenix magazine for highlighting our CEO, Tammy Abernethy, and the mission of Hope Women’s Center. We’re grateful for the opportunity to share her story and the heart behind the work we do to support women and teen girls in crisis across Arizona.

“Tammy is a passionate leader dedicated to helping women thrive by using their God-given gifts. With a background in corporate and nonprofit administration, including several years of international service, she became CEO of Hope Women’s Center in 2013.

As a single mother, Tammy experienced the fears and challenges of parenting in crisis, fueling her heart for women facing similar struggles alone.

Under her leadership, Hope has expanded from one center to six, plus mobile sites serving women statewide. Committed to engaging, encouraging, and equipping women and teen girls in difficult life situations, Hope Women’s Center takes a relational, holistic approach to meeting their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs — leading them from trauma to transformation.

Tammy holds a Master’s in Leadership and is currently pursuing a Doctorate focused on equipping faith communities to address domestic abuse. She believes that impacting one woman’s life can positively impact her children, family, community — and ultimately, future generations.”

At Hope Women’s Center, we serve every woman and teen girl that walks through our doors. Whether it’s through offering a listening ear, providing essential resources, or creating a space for women to find hope and healing, we’re grateful to be a part of their journeys. It’s humbling to know that our programs are making a difference, and it’s all thanks to the incredible support from our community. Together, we’re helping women and families find their strength and build brighter futures.

A DCS caseworker recently called Hope Women’s Center, hoping to refer a client for some of our classes. During the conversation, she shared, "I've referred multiple women to you, and they've all had wonderful things to say about Hope’s programs. They truly love it! I’ve really appreciated having Hope as a place to send them."

It’s “Back to School” season! This can be an exciting time but also a stressful time for families. As parents prepare to send their kids back to school, you may be wondering how you can help? That is a great question! A back to school drive for school supplies, clothes, and shoes is always helpful, or you can chat with your local Center Manager to find out more specific needs. Thank you for your continued support and love for our Hope families.

Many women in poverty are under an incredible amount of stress and find themselves with fewer choices and minimal hope for their future. In Arizona, almost 20% of women live in these difficult circumstances. How do we help? HOPE offers holistic support for their physical, emotional and spiritual needs. We welcome her in with love, support and tangible help.
