You can optimize everything else and still leave the biggest gains on the table if you're not sleeping well.
Sleep is when the body does its most important repair work. Growth hormone release, cellular cleanup (autophagy), memory consolidation, inflammatory regulation — all of it happens primarily during deep and REM sleep. There's no supplement, no protocol, no biohack that fully compensates for chronically poor sleep.
Most adults need 7–9 hours. Most aren't getting it — or aren't getting quality sleep even when the hours are there. Sleep latency, sleep stages, HRV overnight — these are the metrics that actually tell the story.
If you're building any kind of health optimization protocol and sleep isn't the foundation, you're building on sand. It's not glamorous, but it's the most evidence-backed intervention available.
Track it, protect it, and take it seriously before adding anything else on top.
