You vs. You.

Meant to post this here and it ended up on the personal page first. My twin called immediately and said “you put that s**t on before, ain’t never missed.”

She was right then. She is right now.

She was always that girl. The heels, the presence, the showing out. Now the muscles are coming in, the weight is coming off, and she is still leveling up.

The only competition that has ever mattered is the one in the mirror.

I checked my insights today and had to stop everything.

New faces. Real ones. And y’all are between 25 and 44, which means some of you are my young h0es and some of you are my aunties keeping up with auntie. Either way, welcome. You found your people.

If you followed me, it’s for a reason. Maybe you want to start moving your body. Maybe you lost the weight and you are not about to let it come back. Maybe you are standing at the start line of your journey trying to figure out where to begin. All of that belongs here.

This is not a highlight reel. This is the real thing. The sweat, the breath, the comeback. And we are building something together, which means we need a name for this community because “my people” is not going to cut it.

So tell me in the comments: where do you fall? YH or auntie? And while you are down there, drop what you think we should call ourselves. I am wide open.

I’ve spent a good $20k+ on coaching. Some worth it. On others 😒, the jury is still out.

I’m telling you, YOU have everything you need to go after what you want.

I can probably pinpoint a few fears you have:

😨 You’re afraid to hold yourself accountable.
😨 You’re afraid to look cringe or stupid trying publicly.
😨 You’re scared to go after what you really want because you don’t know how to monetize it.
😨 You’re not willing to spend the money or time because it feels impossible.
😱 You’ve been doing what you’re used to for so long, anything else feels foreign.
😱 You’re too tired because you’re the backbone for everything and everyone else. They know that they can depend on you. It’s a no brainer.

Ask me how I know?

Baby, that was me. Chasing the guru. Buying the course. Waiting for somebody else to hand me my own life back.

They’re figuring this s**t out too. (I cuss. Bite me.)

I’m not selling you anything. I truly believe you are the missing link in your own equation. Coaches can guide you. They can’t want it for you.

My nephew graduated today and I ran into a few faces from high school. It got me thinking.

I’m not the person I was back then. Thank God.

People will keep you in a box if you let them. The good girl. The smart one. The fat friend with the big personality, because God forbid she be the whole meal. Whatever label got slapped on you at 16 has a way of following you around like it still fits. Like you owe somebody the privilege of staying small and recognizable.

You don’t.

I’m not the girl hiding behind good grades and a loud laugh, performing palatable so nobody felt threatened. I’m not the sidekick in anybody’s coming-of-age story. I’m the woman showing up with a big ass ego and I like it here. I like her. I like what she’s built. I like that she stopped apologizing for taking up room she was always supposed to occupy.

The box was never the truth. The box was the assignment. And I turned it in a long time ago.

If you’re still letting a 16-year-old version of you run the show, this is your sign. She did her job. Let her rest. The woman you’re becoming is waiting.
