What is homeopathy? Increasingly, the answer depends on who you ask.

Today, the term homeopathy is incorrectly applied to practices that differ substantially from the principles established by Samuel Hahnemann. When fundamentally different approaches are all called “homeopathy,” the public is left without a clear understanding of what homeopathy actually is.

A profession that cannot define itself cannot preserve its identity.

For this reason, the American Institute of Homeopathy has published its Consensus Definition of Homeopathy and is inviting organizations and individuals to adopt and support it. NAHE is proud to do so.

We encourage organizations and individuals to read the statement, share it, and consider adopting it within your own org or practice

Let us not lose our way.

Homeopathy has transformed lives for more than 200 years because it is a distinct system of medicine founded on enduring principles. As the term homeopathy is increasingly misused and applied to approaches that depart from those principles, preserving a clear understanding of what homeopathy is becomes essential. By supporting a shared definition, we help ensure that authentic homeopathy remains recognizable, credible, and available for generations to come.
