YES - Bears Eat Pumpkins (and other critters)
🐻 BEARS will walk up to anything that Looks Like PUMPKIN, SUNFLOWER seeds, BERRIES, CORN, GOURDS, BIRD houses (they eat bird eggs & babies), etc. Bears do not understand what decor is - it just looks like a food source to them! Think before you place Fall decor near your front door! Do not attract bears to your door! 🎃 Placing REAL pumpkins and/or other fruit/vegetable type items on your property is the same as feeding wildlife and may result in a $$$$ citation. A bear's sense of smell is amazing, as a bear gets closer to your door it smells everything inside your house even more magnified than when passing by.

In HOT WEATHER - Trash scent increases! Keep them clean!
CLEAN your Garbage & Recycling Bins!
— At a minimum, clean these bins with water & unscented dish soap. If you can, take them outside and use a garden hose. If there’s mold or mildew, don’t be afraid to add some bleach and let it sit for a few minutes before rinsing.
— You may also opt to use the bathtub and just give them a good scrub down / soak with bleach.
— After rinsing any bin, make sure the inside & outside are dry before replacing the garbage bags.

🐻 ARE YOUR low WINDOWS CLOSED & LOCKED?
Any open window below 8 feet is easy access for bears. You must remain in the room or close low windows /sliders when you exit a room. Have a noisemaker or several noisemakers in the room that you’re in - in the event that a bear tries to enter through the screen.
Screens do not hold back bears. Also, Close your Garage Doors and lock side garage doors!

BEAR SEASON 🐻 🦝 The Pine Mountain Club Trash transfer center will be open until 7:00pm every THURSDAY Night until mid-October!
It is FREE for PMC residents to drop off trash! Trash is covered by the PMCPOA fees. ♻️ Please separate & recycle items accordingly! ♻️
🚙 Location: From Mil Potrero Highway turn onto Arctic Drive, at the 4-way stop at Aleutian turn Right onto Aleutian and drive up the hill PAST the Equestrian Center.
🐻 Never leave trash after hours due to our local Wildlife! Bears, raccoons, coyote, etc will spread trash around! 🐻
🐻 Never leave trash in garages, sheds or crawlspaces!

Salt Licks? Deer Blocks?
✅ Do not put out salt licks, grain, or deer blocks to attract wildlife as these will create areas of concentrated animal scent.
✅ If you attract Deer to your yard, you may also draw in Mountain Lions and Bears.
✅ Salt licks are NOT allowed in Pine Mountain Club.
