Weak infraspinatus = your shoulder may be doing entirely too much with not enough support.
If that rotator cuff muscle isn’t doing its job, the shoulder can start feeling tight, unstable, irritated, or just plain “off” with overhead movement, pressing, or reaching.
One simple tool I like? Dead hangs.
When done well, they can help:
create space in the shoulder joint
open up the lats and chest
improve overhead mobility
expose where the shoulder is compensating
Now dead hangs aren’t the fix for every shoulder problem, but they can be a solid way to decompress the area and build awareness around what your shoulder is missing.
If your shoulders stay tight no matter how much you stretch, there’s usually more going on than “just tension.”
