Alright y’all, I’ve spent months researching helmets. Not because the internet told me to, not because I hate helmets, and not because I’m trying to prove a point. I got tired of assumptions and decided to start looking for answers.
After my accident, spending a ridiculous amount of money on a helmet I couldn’t tolerate, and listening to every opinion under the sun, I started digging into head shapes, weight, wind noise, pressure points, communication systems, and why some riders struggle to wear certain gear consistently.
Based on everything I’ve learned, these are the helmets I want to try:
• Schuberth S3 SCHUBERTH Helmets
• Schuberth C5
• AGV K6 S AGV Helmets
• Arai Contour-X Arai Helmet Americas
• Scorpion EXO-R1 Air Carbon Scorpionexo
• LS2 Carbon models LS2 Helmets CZ/SK
Truthfully, Schuberth was my first choice from the beginning. I just couldn’t justify that kind of money at the time. I ended up settling for a helmet from a company that would finance it and convinced myself I’d get used to it. I never did.
I’m looking for the lightest, quietest, most comfortable helmet I can find. Not the one with the prettiest graphics. Not the most expensive one. The one I’ll actually wear.
The goal was never to argue about helmets. The goal was to understand why some riders struggle with them and find solutions instead of pretending the problem doesn’t exist.
