System Of A Down frontman Serj Tankian has spent years rallying for the recognition of the Armenian Genocide.

Despite this, he has since taken issue with Israel for acknowledging the tragedy while continuing to commit similar atrocities in Gaza and Lebanon.

Here's Tankian's full statement:

"For many years, Israel's government used AIPAC to lobby the US Congress to not recognize the Armenian genocide, to prevent Congress from recognizing the Armenian genocide, due to their relationship with Turkey, their intelligence sharing with Turkey, et cetera.

Today, the Netanyahu cabinet decided to recognize the Armenian genocide of 1915 — a genocide that led Hi**er thinking that he could do what he could do to the Jews in the 1930s and 1940s.

The fact that this government is already committing genocide in Gaza and Lebanon decided to recognize the genocide of my grandparents is the worst fu***ng thing that they could have done to Armenians — by using our history, our genocide, our pain to their political advantage.

F**k you."

To live and let live is a statement, but to actively live and actively let oneself to live to accept the life to die is such a beautiful and punk rock way to take, dare I say, such grave news to the grave…

Almost eight months ago, Brent Robbins appeared before a standing-room-only crowd at Point Park University to deliver what is colloquially known as a last lecture. The topic: “The End is the Beginning: An Existential Perspective on Suffering and Death.”

The setting was academic, but the subject wasn’t: Robbins was dying. Eleven months before, he had received a diagnosis of stage IV pancreatic cancer.

Robbins’ scholarly work centered on humanistic psychology, with a particular focus on the dying process. And he decided to die publicly, as one last existential project.

“I’m an existentialist — my whole life has been death,” he said in that lecture in September.

Robbins died April 28 of pancreatic cancer at age 55.
