Brock has been part of the Advantage team for almost 2 years and was nominated for thinking outside the box to help each resident achieve their personal goals.

We’re celebrating AAPI Heritage Month by recognizing leaders who have transformed healthcare through innovation and compassion.

Today we’re highlighting Katherine Luzuriaga, MD, a pioneering pediatric infectious disease specialist whose groundbreaking HIV research helped change the future of treatment for children born with HIV.

Dr. Luzuriaga played a key role in the first documented case of an HIV-positive infant achieving long-term remission after early antiretroviral treatment, a breakthrough that reshaped conversations around pediatric HIV care and prevention.

Her work has earned national recognition, including being named one of TIME Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People in the World for her contributions to the search for an HIV cure.

As we celebrate our nurses and CNAs all month long, we’re honored to spotlight Heather Ingram, CNA with Pottsville Hospice 💙

Heather has been part of the Advantage team for 4 1/2 years and was nominated for being compassionate and caring in every interaction she has with patients and families.

Why did you choose Advantage?
“I chose Advantage because of an amazing nurse! Lisa Johnson was the hospice nurse for a patient I cared for for another agency. The care she provided and the compassion she showed to my patient, and her husband was above and beyond! When my patient passed away and her husband moved to assisted living, Advantage was hiring! Here I am almost 5 years later! (PS, the husband of that patient ended up on our service, so I was blessed to be able to care for him in his final days as well).”

What being a CNA means to you:
“Being a CNA and especially a hospice CNA is such a rewarding experience. I get to provide compassionate care to our patients and their families at one of the most difficult times in their lives!”

Outside of work, Heather enjoys spending time with family and friends, camping, and relaxing at the beach 🏕️☀️🌊
