We thought they were ants crawling across the City Harbor Bridge. Turns out, they were people. Quick bite at the hotel, then off we go. We hop the ferry from Pyrmont Bay, heading toward Manly. As we pass Milson’s Point, we spot them. Tiny figures climbing the arch of the Sydney Harbor Bridge, not walking, climbing. This isn’t stairs. It’s the actual steel spine of the bridge. 440 feet above the harbor, a three hour climb. Ladders, catwalks, slow, steady step by step. And at the top, the Sydney Opera House, sitting right below you, and a view that stretches forever. Then, just like that, manly, waves rolling in, surfers dancing on the water, salt air, sun, freedom, Anne Marie takes off hunting beach glass. Little treasures for the grandkids, like she’s done 100 times before. Lunch, a little shopping, then back on the ferry, skyline glowing, opera house shining, and then Luna Park Sydney, a little strange, little eerie. We decided to let that one be back to Darling Harbor. Dinner, ice cream, city lights, and towering above it all, Crown Sydney, Sydney’s tallest, boldest, most modern statement. Another beautiful day. One more to go before heading home, so we’re going to make it count. Love. Health. Adventure.
