Your child's report card doesn't always tell you the full story. A course grade blends two things. What your child knows, and whether the work reached the teacher. For most students those move together closely enough that one letter covers both. For a child with ADHD they come apart.
A student can understand the unit completely and still lose a full letter to work that was finished and never handed in. That's the instrument, not the teacher and not your child.
So before the report card arrives, go and get two numbers. The average on tests and quizzes, and the average on homework completion. Both are usually in the portal. Neither one is on the report card.
If the test average sits well above the overall grade, the learning is landing and the delivery isn't, and that has structural fixes. If both are low together, the content needs attention and that's a different plan entirely.
