💥 Happy Tattoo Day at Marwood! 💥

Who says you have to be young to get a tattoo? 😎 Our activities staff helped residents show off their fun side with some colorful temporary tattoos!

There were plenty of smiles, laughs, and a few moments of “Look what I got!” as everyone picked out their favorite designs. 🦋🌸❤️⭐

It was a little bit of ink, a LOT of fun, and memories we’ll be talking about for a while! 😄

🐶🐻 The Adventures of Dog & Bear Come to Marwood! 🐻🐶

What started as a simple way for Jacklin and Tom Kinzer to connect with their grandchildren has grown into something truly special! ❤️

The “Adventures of Dog & Bear” began in 2015, when Jacklin and Tom would travel around the area, pose Dog and Bear in fun locations, and create little stories and emails to share with their grandchildren. 📖✨

Over the years, Jacklin started a page to share their adventures, and the stories grew into something much bigger than she ever imagined! Today, Dog & Bear travel throughout the area, sharing their stories with people of all ages and spreading smiles wherever they go. 🐾

One of the most heartwarming parts of their mission is bringing “stuffies” to nursing homes and other organizations, giving them to residents and others simply to bring a little extra joy, comfort, and companionship. 🧸❤️

We were so happy to welcome Dog & Bear to Marwood and be part of their wonderful adventure! Thank you for sharing your creativity, kindness, and love with our residents. Your thoughtful mission is a beautiful reminder that sometimes the smallest things—a story, a stuffed friend, or a friendly visit—can bring the biggest smiles! 🐶🐻💕

🐾 Dog Days of Summer at Marwood! 🐾

We had a paw-sitively wonderful day celebrating the Dog Days of Summer! ☀️🐶

This morning, our Activities team made their rounds with our beautiful donated interactive Golden Retriever, bringing smiles, companionship, and fun dog-themed trivia to residents throughout the building.

Next, everyone enjoyed a special cooking demonstration as Patti showed us how to make adorable dog-shaped treats...and the best part? They were made for people to enjoy, too! 🦴🍪

The fun continued this afternoon with a visit from our amazing pet therapy dogs. Residents were delighted as they watched an impressive agility demonstration before spending time petting, visiting, and sharing plenty of love with our four-legged guests.

From wagging tails to wagging smiles, it was a day full of laughter, connection, and the unconditional joy that dogs bring to our lives. ❤️🐾

What a wonderful afternoon celebrating a very special birthday! 🎉❤️

Virginia's family gave her an unforgettable birthday gift by inviting the incredibly talented Michael Carluccio to share A Musical Journey Through the Decades with not only Virginia, but all of our residents.

Michael had everyone smiling, singing along, and tapping their toes as he truly worked the crowd with his energy, charm, and amazing voice. Residents enjoyed timeless favorites from legendary artists like Neil Diamond, Frank Sinatra, and Dean Martin, making for an afternoon filled with music, memories, and laughter.

A heartfelt thank you to Virginia's family for sharing this special celebration with our Marwood community, and to Michael Carluccio for an outstanding performance that made the day one to remember! Happy Birthday, Virginia! 🎂🎶💜

🌱💚 Fresh from the Garden! 💚🌱

Our Memory Care residents enjoyed a wonderful afternoon spending time in the garden, picking and snapping fresh green beans grown right here at Marwood! Gardening offers so many benefits—from stimulating the senses and encouraging movement to sparking memories and providing a meaningful sense of purpose.

There were plenty of smiles, conversations, and hands-on fun as everyone worked together to harvest this season's crop. It's amazing how simple moments in the garden can grow into cherished memories.

🎉🎂 Happy 70th Birthday, Joyce! 🎂🎉

What better way to celebrate a milestone birthday than with the King of Rock 'n' Roll! Our resident Joyce generously treated everyone at Marwood to a very special birthday celebration by hiring an Elvis tribute performer to entertain residents, families, and staff.

The afternoon was filled with wonderful music, singing along to classic Elvis hits, laughter, and plenty of smiles. Guests also had the opportunity to strike a pose and take special photos with "Elvis," making the celebration even more memorable!

A special thank you to Greg Jaqua Entertainment – Celebrity Tributes for an outstanding performance that made Joyce's 70th birthday one to remember.

Thank you, Joyce, for sharing your special day with your Marwood family. We were honored to celebrate this incredible milestone with you and wish you a very happy 70th birthday filled with love, laughter, and many more wonderful memories! 🎶❤️📸

🎶 Music filled the halls at Marwood! 🎶

On Wednesday, July 29, we were delighted to welcome the New Horizons Orchestra for a wonderful afternoon of live music enjoyed by a full house of residents, families, and staff.

Directed by Carl Gippert, the New Horizons Orchestra is an inclusive, adult-focused music program that welcomes musicians of all experience levels while sharing the joy of music through performances in our community.

From familiar favorites to beautiful instrumental selections, the orchestra's talent and enthusiasm created an afternoon filled with smiles, toe-tapping, singing along, and cherished memories. We are so grateful to the New Horizons Orchestra for sharing their time and musical gifts with us. Thank you for making our day so special! ❤️🎻🎺🎼

Friendship is one of life's greatest gifts, and today we took time to celebrate the special connections that make Marwood feel like home. 🍦 A Sweet Celebration for National Ice Cream Month! 🍦

We gave a nod to National Ice Cream Month by rolling our ice cream cart throughout the building, bringing smiles and delicious frozen treats right to our residents! From classic ice cream bars to other yummy favorites, everyone enjoyed a cool and refreshing treat on a warm summer day.
