🚶♀️🛴 Our First-Ever STEM Adventure Trail: Walk & Roll Event was a HUGE success! 🧪💙
What an incredible afternoon last Friday of learning, exploring, and moving! Our Saplings students walked and rolled through our plaza, stopping at several amazing businesses to discover how STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) plays a role in everyday careers at that establishment.
A heartfelt THANK YOU to our wonderful community partners for opening your doors and welcoming our children:
💃 Port Orange Dance – using their grass to teach students how dancing is similar to coding ! Showing how movement, rhythm, balance, and coordination all connect to science and the human body.
🏡 The Mortgage Firm – introducing students to the math behind budgeting, home buying, and building having them calculate the area of their grass.
💅🏼 Port Orange Nail & Lashes – exploring color theory, chemistry, precision, and the science behind beauty products.
🎮 Video Game Galaxy – teaching children how technology, coding, engineering, creativity, and problem-solving all come together to create the games they love.
🤿 Spruce Creek Scuba – helping students discover buoyancy, pressure, floating vs. sinking, and the amazing science that makes underwater exploration possible.
🍽️ INCAS 360 – showing how math, measurements, temperatures, timing, and teamwork are all essential ingredients in running a successful restaurant.
A very special thank you goes to Rob from Video Game Galaxy and Tracey from Spruce Creek Scuba for taking extra time to speak with our students, answer their endless questions, and send them home with thoughtful keepsakes. Your passion for what you do truly inspired our young learners!
This event reminded us that community makes us stronger. When local businesses invest in children, they help open young minds to new possibilities, future careers, and real-world learning experiences. We are incredibly grateful to every business that welcomed our students and helped make our very first Walk & Roll STEM Adventure Trail such a memorable experience.
