My intuition has always been like a sturdy grandfather oak. He is uncanny in his wisdom and deep awareness but trusts me not to take his words for the gospel without exploring for myself. He never criticizes, shames, or blames me for not obeying, but is always there waiting with his dependable presence when I realize his truths no matter if it’s been an hour, a day, 5 years, or longer.
He lead me to you, Amy. He knew I was designed for a woman of your caliber, yet I feigned my worthiness for so long until I could no longer ignore the truth.
My intuition was electric when I professed my vows at the altar. He said that choosing to claim you as my wife was going to ask much of me. The container of marriage is designed much like a crucible with its aim to melt away all that is no longer of service to the highest love that we both know we are here to co-create and share.
I understood what was about to come, and I sealed my vows and accepted my ring as if I were being knighted, no longer able to cling to the patterns of old that tethered me to my prior form.
I felt properly embodied to lead us into this new territory, and yet I also felt a tenderness and vulnerability that made me want to keep this first year to ourselves. No sharing of our intimacy as I used to. I wanted to protect this alchemical year for just us.
It has been everything and beyond what I imagined. However, my intuition was spot on. It has been a year of growth that has seen destruction and excavation. It has rendered us both so much better equipped than ever to build well beyond the superficial walls around us.
I feel so much gratitude, love, Eros, and passion for today and each moment we share as lovers and devoted spouses. Thank you for choosing me every second of every day we share until our bodies return to the earth.
Happy anniversary, my love.
