Assessment: We do a face to face information gathering interview meeting with family member(s) and the senior. Together we review the needs of the senior based on medical care, financial, geographic, and family’s personal preference to match the senior’s needs and interests. Our goal is to make sure the senior will be comfortable, welcomed and cared for in their new environment. Research: We then identify a number of appropriate communities, schedule and coordinate on-site visits. The options we select are trustworthy. We know the environment, amenities and the personalities of each community. In addition, we regularly check and research the license history, complaint and compliance records on each facility. Tour: We are available to accompany the family members and/or senior on the tour of the communities and to assist in the decision-making process. Our job is to present you with appropriate choices to meet the needs and personal preferences of the senior. Follow Up: We make periodic visits to the new resident following placement in a community or adult care home to make sure the care of the senior’s emotional and care needs are being met. We continue to consult with the family as long as needed and assist with any concerns or questions that may arise in following the care of the resident. Consulting/Referral: In addition to housing referrals, Golden Placement Services provides referrals for those who need related senior resources such as;

* ADA Contractors remodel

* Counseling Services for families

New senior caregivers often undergo a significant shift in their daily lives as they begin practicing intentional self‑care while supporting an aging loved one. Stepping into this role can be deeply rewarding, yet it can also lead to physical fatigue and emotional strain when personal well‑being is overlooked. Understanding that your health is just as important as the person you care for is the foundation for long‑term resilience and success.

Scams That Could Endanger Your Senior Loved One

It’s a well known story that the elderly and those who may not be quite as familiar with how the Internet works have long been a popular target of scammers. Unscrupulous con artists expect that the elderly will be easy to confuse, trick, and/or relieve of whatever money they may have. In fact, according to an American Journal of Public Health estimate, at least five percent of this population is victimized by scammers annually. Unfortunately, the Internet has only made things easier for these unsavory types. Older people are less likely to be familiar with technology and how it works, and the Internet allows criminals unmonitored access to potential elderly victims. A Department of Justice estimate found that the elderly lose about three billion dollars a year to scams.

How to Avoid Delirium after a Surgery for Elderly Patients

Hospital stays can be overwhelming for anyone, but for older adults they come with added risks—one of the most common and most misunderstood being hospital delirium. Families often confuse delirium with dementia, yet the two are very different. Delirium is typically sudden, temporary, and often preventable, and it’s directly linked to the stressors of hospitalization itself. Recognizing the signs and understanding what causes delirium can make a meaningful difference in your loved one’s recovery, safety, and long‑term well‑being.
