Today marks one year as an attending 👩‍⚕️

Here are a few things I’d tell my younger self wearing that oversized xray lead headed into the OR for the first time 10 years ago✨

- Do it scared, do the hard things, do what makes you feel uncomfortable
- Surround yourself with people who will rally around you and make you better
- Remember to take time for yourself. If that includes a vacation or even a half day. Take it
- Not everyone will like you & that’s ok
- Be open to criticism because that’s what makes you better
- It’s ok to take a step back in the OR and just breathe
- You will make mistakes, don’t dwell on them
- Lean on those loved ones when times get tough
- Enjoy what you do, it will make the long days feel shorter 🌸
