A little milestone I’m really proud of…

Today I filled these jars with 8 herbs grown right here in my own garden.

Every season the goal is the same: grow a little more, learn a little more, and rely a little less on buying ingredients from somewhere else.

Some herbs still have to be sourced, and that’s okay. But seeing more of these shelves filled with plants I’ve planted, harvested, dried, and processed myself is incredibly rewarding.

It’s a reminder that Old City Apothecary isn’t standing still. Every year we’re growing... literally.

Here’s to adding even more homegrown herbs to these shelves next season.

Can you get too much magnesium?
The answer is yes, but... For most healthy people with normal kidney function, taking more oral magnesium than your body tolerates usually leads to loose stools long before it becomes a serious concern.

In fact, many practitioners use what’s called bowel tolerance to help determine an appropriate dose.

Since many of you use my topical magnesium body butter, that’s a different conversation.

Topical magnesium isn’t taken by mouth, so you don’t have that same bowel tolerance limit. The takeaway? More isn’t always better. The goal is using the right amount for your body.

A little experiment…

I had just enough FrankinSalve left at the end of a batch that I poured it into a few twist-up tubes instead of another jar.

I’m actually kind of loving this format.

Same FrankinSalve. Same formula. Just pocket-sized.

Perfect for tossing in a purse, keeping in the truck, hiking, traveling, or carrying in your pocket when your hands decide they want to split open at the worst possible time.

I’m not saying this is becoming a permanent product… but I have to admit, it’s growing on me.
