$9,900 Donations Raised! Big Shout-out's and Thank-you's to all the participants, donors, and sponsors for your donations, your spirit, and for supporting our community. We hope that you had a fun and fulfilling day!
Thank-you Southern Colorado Runners Club for giving back with every race! We have the funds ready to give equally to Red Creek Volunteer Fire & Rescue, Beulah Fire Protection and Ambulance, and the United Way Southern Colorado Fire Relief.

Thank you to all 491 finishers yesterday and all the volunteers for a festive red, white and blue morning celebrating 250 years of coming together as a nation. Together as a community, we raised over $6,000 to help those in our community affected by the Aspen Acres wildfire.

550 people registered and 491 finished despite smoke in the air from nearby wildfires. But together we raised over $6,000 to help local efforts aiding our friends, family and coworkers affected and displaced by the Aspen Acres wildfire.

When you can’t ever share enough Thank You’s…
Over 500 people came together to celebrate our amazing country and more than ever our community! Our hearts go out to all those affected by the Aspen Acre Fire and the fireman/law enforcement working tirelessly! We will keep you up to date on your donations and proceeds as the funds are processed to the club and then to where we can help the most! 💕

Let's Rally Up to Help our Friends and Families!

Firecracker 5K Participants,
Tomorrow we come together to celebrate Independence Day the best way we know how... through community, resilience, and supporting one another.

This year's Firecracker 5K has taken on an even greater purpose. All proceeds from the race will be donated to local families affected by the nearby wildfire. We will also be accepting cash donations at the event, or you can make a donation online through our website if you would like to further support those in need. Every contribution, big or small, will help our neighbors during this difficult time.

Like many in our community, one of our Race Directors has been directly impacted by the fire and has been evacuated from her home. As a result, she may not be able to attend tomorrow's event. While she was unable to finish gathering all of the race materials, we are incredibly fortunate to have an amazing group of Southern Colorado Runners Club volunteers who have stepped in to ensure everything is ready for race day. We appreciate your patience and understanding as our community navigates these challenging circumstances.

Race Day Safety
The safety of our participants, volunteers, and spectators remains our highest priority. We are continuing to monitor the air quality and weather conditions and will communicate any significant changes if necessary.

Please listen to your body throughout the event. Remember:
-You are welcome to walk instead of run.
If at any point you begin to feel the effects of the smoke or experience discomfort, stop immediately and ask a volunteer for assistance or make your way back to the pavilion.
-Participate at a pace that is comfortable for you, and please use your own discretion when deciding whether to race based on your personal health and comfort level.
-Tomorrow is about much more than finishing a race. It is about coming together as a community, celebrating our nation's independence, and showing what makes Southern Colorado so special and neighbors helping neighbors when it matters most.

Fire watch updates.

At this time, the race is proceeding as scheduled. We are continuing to monitor the nearby wildfire activity and local air quality(city park area has been pretty clear in the mornings so far) and will communicate any changes if conditions warrant.

As always, we encourage participants to use their own discretion and your health and safety should always come first.

We are also, in progress with assisting funds to those affected by the fires.
