I’ve been singing this exact song to him since he was a newborn 👏

At first, I always modeled clapping face-to-face so he could clearly watch my hands and connect the movement to the words.

Now at 9 months, he recognizes the song and claps independently when he hears it.

This is such a great example of how babies learn through:
✨ repetition
✨ visual modeling
✨ imitation
✨ consistent routines

Sometimes the simplest playful routines become powerful learning opportunities.

Language learning doesn’t have to be complicated!

One of the BEST ways to build communication is during simple, motivating play routines like this one.

While we play, I’m:
• labeling actions as we do them (“open,” “in”)
• labeling objects (“ball,” “door”)
• repeating single words often
• using short, simple language
• pairing gestures with words (pointing)

Repetition + simple language helps babies connect words with actions and meaning over time. You don’t need fancy toys or planned activities to support language development.

Simple mealtime tip to encourage communication 👇

Instead of giving the whole snack at once, try offering just 1–2 pieces at a time.

Why? Because it naturally creates opportunities for your child to communicate throughout the meal 💬

Your child might:
- reach for more
- make eye contact
- vocalize
- gesture or sign “more”
- attempt a word
- imitate sounds or actions

Communication doesn’t always start with words — these small moments are the building blocks!

As parents, it’s easy to wonder if enough learning is happening in the everyday moments ✨

The truth is, so much growth happens through play. When your child is pouring, building, pretending, and exploring, they’re developing language, problem solving, confidence, and emotional skills in ways that feel natural to them.
