It’s the little things 🖤
When I leave my family’s homes, I’m ALWAYS filled with gratitude.
Sometimes it’s a quick & easy weighted feed.
Sometimes it’s a hard conversation about the need for an SNS or triple feeding.
Sometimes we cry together and talk about the sleep deprivation and perinatal mental health.
Sometimes I come thinking I’m going to help a baby latched + instead we spend the time processing birth trauma.
No matter how the visit goes, I always leave GRATEFUL.
Grateful that I am in the right place at the right time.
Grateful for those who came before me.
Grateful for the evidence based science AND cultural wisdom that guides me on this lactation path.
Grateful for those who have taught me and mentored me.
Grateful for my families who trust me enough to allow me into their vulnerable space.
Grateful for feeling confident in my expertise (hello imposter syndrome!)
Today, and every day, I am GRATEFUL 🖤✨🧘🏽♀️
