As dementia progresses, finding the right words can become
frustrating or impossible for our residents. But communication never truly stops.
Our caregivers are trained in the unspoken languages of memory care: a gentle hand on the shoulder, a shared smile, matching someone's breathing, or a reassuring touch on the forehead.
These small moments of physical reassurance lower cortisol levels,
reduce anxiety, and tell our residents exactly what they need to hear: "You are safe. You are seen. I am right here with you."❤️🩹
