One of the greatest gifts we can give our children is to teach them that their feelings are valid, but they aren’t permanent. This is difficult to understand as a child, adolescent, and even an adult when feelings feel too big and overwhelming, but to be a beacon of hope and a steady understanding presence can go a long way.
