Maybe the bitch in you isn’t asking to burn the village down.

Maybe she’s asking you to stop volunteering to carry all its fu***ng firewood.

Read that again.

Because somewhere along the way, we learned to call a woman angry when she stopped accommodating.

Difficult when she stopped over-functioning.

Selfish when she stopped carrying what was never hers.

Too much when she finally took up the space she’d been giving away.

So maybe this fire you’re feeling isn’t destruction.

Maybe it’s information.

Maybe your irritation is pointing directly at the places you’ve been saying yes while your whole body is screaming no.

Maybe your anger knows exactly where you’ve abandoned yourself in the name of being good, helpful, agreeable, understanding.

You don’t have to burn anything down.

You don’t need to blow up your life.

You don’t even need to make a fu***ng announcement.

Just.

Put.

The firewood.

Down.

Let the village figure out how to tend its own damn fire.

You’ve got one of your own to feed.

And she is fu***ng magnificent. 🔥

This was a kinda fun Chat GPT prompt….
(And check out the babes behind me - this picture is from July 1942 Time Magazine story. They are in Lassen Volcanic National Park on the 4th of July 🫨)

Before you meet Natalie, there are a few things you should know.

She is not particularly interested in behaving.

Not in the reckless way.
In the I have spent enough of my life doing things simply because that’s how they’re done way.

She will ask you questions you weren’t planning to answer.

She’ll want to know what makes you feel alive, not what you do for work.

She believes the body knows things the mind hasn’t caught up with yet. She trusts dirt under bare feet, women gathered in circles, long dinners, old trees, deep belly laughs, pleasure, movement, instinct, and the strange little tug in your chest that says, there’s more for me than this.

She has very little patience for performative bu****it.

She likes people a little wild around the edges.

She swears.
She loves hard.
She feels deeply.
She notices everything.

She can be tender as hell and still refuse to make herself smaller so you’re more comfortable.

She’s increasingly uninterested in being palatable.

And you should probably know this part:

She has a habit of reminding people who they were before the world told them who they were supposed to be.

That can be inconvenient.

Because once you remember…

the job that’s killing you feels different.
The relationship where you’ve disappeared feels different.
The body you’ve been criticizing feels different.
The dreams you’ve been calling ridiculous start getting louder.

You may suddenly want to take your shoes off.

Quit apologizing.

Eat the damn butter.

Dance in the kitchen.

Say no without writing a dissertation about why.

Say yes to something wildly impractical.

Take up more room.

Feel sexy for absolutely no one’s benefit but your own.

And begin choosing your life instead of merely managing it.

So yes.

Consider yourself warned.

You may meet Natalie and leave slightly more feral, considerably more awake, and dangerously interested in becoming yourself.

And she will consider that a very good day. 🔥

The kids are back in school.
The calendars are filling in.
The routines are finding their rhythm again.

And somewhere beneath all of that…
you can feel the season beginning to turn.

The light is changing.
The mornings are cooler.
The earth is beginning her slow exhale.

Maybe you are, too.

Maybe summer was beautiful and wild and full.
Maybe it was chaotic as hell.
Maybe you’ve spent months tending, feeding, driving, planning, holding, loving, doing.

And now you can finally see a little light at the end of the tunnel.

October 3rd, we gather at Mill Creek for THE RETURN.

Not to become a better version of ourselves.

Not to optimize or reinvent or add another damn thing to the list.

But to return.

To our bodies.
To our knowing.
To the rhythm underneath the noise.
To pleasure.
To rest.
To movement.
To nature.
To the ancient medicine of women gathering together.

A day in the mountains as the season turns.

A threshold.

A chance to put down what summer asked you to carry and ask:

What wants to come home to me now?

If you’ve been waiting for a little breathing room…

Here it is.

THE RETURN
October 3 • Mill Creek
A gathering for women ready to come back to themselves.

Come sit with us. 🌲

I told myself I would keep showing up so here I am! Freshly showered from the woods, catching the golden hour rays (note the picture of the logger with his head in his hands behind me 😂)
This 🚂 is still a-swirling in this 🧠 of mine…
I think the lesson for today is stop trying to turn every moment into something useful.

There has been so much emphasis on healing, becoming, regulating, optimizing, remembering, growing, doing the work, breaking patterns, finding purpose…

Even beautiful things can become another damn assignment.

What if today’s medicine is simpler?

You are allowed to inhabit your life instead of constantly improving it.

There is a difference between being alive and being endlessly engaged in the project of becoming a better human.

Maybe we don’t need another breakthrough today.

Maybe we need to notice the peaches are ripe.

Eat dinner outside.

Put our bare feet on the earth.

Laugh too loudly.

Touch someone we love when we walk past them.

Take the long way home.

Listen to the song all the way through instead of using it as background noise.

Let pleasure be completely unproductive.

Let rest accomplish absolutely nothing.

Let a beautiful moment remain a beautiful moment without immediately asking, What does this mean?

Because perhaps the deeper remembering underneath all of this work is:

We were never meant to spend our entire lives preparing to live.

Not when we lose the weight.
Not when the business grows.
Not when the nervous system is perfectly regulated.
Not when the kids settle down.
Not when we’ve healed the old wound.
Not when we finally become the woman we think we’re supposed to be.

This is it.

This ordinary Thursday evening in August.

This body.

This breath.

This imperfect, gorgeous, occasionally heartbreaking human life.

And maybe the practice today—for you, for the women who gather with you, for the people who come into your orbit—isn’t become more.

It is:

Be here enough to receive what is already happening.

That feels very much like the next layer of pleasure as medicine to me.

Not chasing pleasure.

Being available for it.

It’s swirling 🌪️ again…
The busy day has wound down. Sigh, this night sky creates clarity. The dogs and I are sitting in the quiet and bubbling up is this…

Maybe we were never meant to optimize our way through this human experience.

Maybe we came here to inhabit the f**k out of it.

To love our people.
Hold the babies.
Wander through the mountains.
Eat beautiful food.
Move our bodies.
Touch our lovers.
Sit around fires.
Listen to music under an open sky.

To grieve when grief comes.
Laugh obscenely loud.
Make things with our hands.
Get dirty.
Get older.
Get wiser.
Be seen.

To stop treating this beautiful, messy, sensual human life like some goddamn self-improvement project.

Maybe the work isn’t becoming more.

Maybe it’s dropping everything we’ve piled on top of who we already are.

The expectations.
The performing.
The polishing.
The apologizing.
The endless fixing.

Until what remains is a woman who is completely, unapologetically ALIVE.

This is what Radiant Audacity is becoming for me.

Not another prescription for how women should live.

An invitation to remember how fu***ng good it feels to be here.

In your body.
In your pleasure.
In your relationships.
In the dirt and the sunlight and the seasons.
In the whole gorgeous, heartbreaking experience of being human.

And maybe we don’t need to teach one another how to do that.

Maybe we simply live so fully inside our own lives that another woman witnesses us and remembers—

Oh.
I’m allowed to be that alive too.

So perhaps the question isn’t:

How do I become all that I am?

Perhaps it’s—

How much of what I already am
am I finally willing to stop hiding?

That.

That’s the work. 🔥

Showing up in this moment to pickup the grandbabies for a full weekend of Monkey Business 🐒 🐵 🙈 . (Yes, my grandma name is Monkey and i absolutely LOVE it) We are going to adventure, explore, play in the creek, eat too much, stay up too late, build some fairy houses and whatever else catches our attention! What are your plans?!?

🚀 Maybe the most audacious thing you can do
is show up fully.

Not once, when you’re feeling brave.
Not only when you’re polished, certain, palatable or easy to understand.

Regularly.

Let yourself be seen.
Let yourself be witnessed.

In your power.
In your pleasure.
In your tenderness.
In your contradictions.
In your loud laugh and your strange ideas and your wild-ass way of seeing the world.

Let them think you’re weird.

Let them call you audacious.

Let them wonder who the hell gave you permission.

Because somewhere along the way, we learned to shave off the parts of ourselves that might make someone uncomfortable.

We became digestible.

And f**k, what a boring way to spend a life.

I don’t want to be digestible anymore.

I want to be recognizable to myself.

So I’m showing up.

Again.
And again.
And again.

Not for applause.

But because every time a woman allows herself to be fully witnessed without shrinking, explaining or apologizing—

another woman somewhere realizes
she can stop hiding too.

Be weird.
Be seen.
Be fu***ng unforgettable.

That’s Radiant Audacity.
