A common concern we hear from California nonprofit leaders is this: "We cannot afford to take on CalAIM compliance without more staff."

This reflects a misunderstanding about how the process actually works — and we want to address it directly.

1. You do not need a full compliance team before you start. Most organizations begin with existing staff and expand as CalAIM revenue builds. Compliance support is part of what we provide during the certification phase and beyond.

2. The cost of compliance support is substantially lower than the revenue generated. An organization starting with 100 clients generates at minimum $40,000 per month in MEDI-CAL reimbursement. Our fees represent a fraction of that.

3. Our clients do not face this alone. Every organization we work with receives a dedicated client manager, documentation templates, staff training, and ongoing billing support. The infrastructure comes with the engagement.

The organizations that thrive in CalAIM are not the ones that waited until they were perfectly resourced. They are the ones that started with an honest assessment and built from there.

If resource concerns are what is keeping your organization from exploring CalAIM, send us a message describing your current programs and staffing. We will give you a straightforward picture of what starting actually requires.

California nonprofit leaders serving veterans and unhoused populations: the most common question we hear is "do we qualify for CalAIM?"

Here is how to find out in three steps.

1. Review your service list. If your organization provides case management, housing navigation, post-hospital support, or day habilitation programs, you likely qualify for MEDI-CAL reimbursement under CalAIM Community Supports.

2. Assess your current staffing. A minimum of 4 to 7 qualified case managers per 100 clients is required to sustain a CalAIM caseload. Many organizations start with existing staff and scale from there as revenue builds.

3. Schedule a readiness conversation. We offer a free 60-minute assessment to walk through your specific situation, identify eligible service lines, and give you an honest timeline to first reimbursement.

Our clients have a 100 percent certification success rate. Every organization we have worked with has received their first reimbursement within 90 days of going live.

If you want to understand whether CalAIM is right for your organization, comment "CalAIM" below or send us a message with a brief description of your current programs. We will respond within one business day.

California nonprofit leaders: September is one of the most important months in CalAIM planning.

Here is why the timing matters for your organization.

1. The CalAIM enrollment process takes 6 to 9 months from start to first MEDI-CAL reimbursement.
2. Organizations that begin the process this month are positioned for Q2 2027 revenue — those who wait until January will not receive their first reimbursement until the following summer.
3. Many nonprofits serving veterans, people in recovery, and those experiencing homelessness already qualify for reimbursable services under CalAIM Community Supports — they simply have not completed the certification process.

If your organization provides Enhanced Care Management, housing support services, or day habilitation programs, you may be closer to CalAIM readiness than you think.

We offer a no-cost, 60-minute readiness assessment to help you understand exactly where you stand and what a realistic path forward looks like.

To schedule your assessment or ask a question about CalAIM enrollment, send us a message with the name of your organization and the services you currently provide.
