Meet Jessica Gomes 👋

Counseling can be a space to slow down, feel understood, and begin making sense of the patterns that feel tangled or hard to navigate.

Jessica approaches counseling with curiosity, compassion, and practical tools to help clients better understand themselves and move toward meaningful change.

What can I say? We did it. 🍾🙌🎉

This is surely one of the best days of my life. ❤️

I’m still overwhelmed by the turnout at our Grand Opening Celebration.

Friends. Family. Counselors. Former interns. Clients. City officials. Local businesses. 🥹

So many people came out to share this moment with us.

🏠✨ Purchasing this building is one of the hardest things I’ve ever done.

Renovating it? I had no idea how much it would require.

It required hearing “no” a lot.
Funding we didn’t have.
Asking for help again and again.
And honestly… a few miracles. 🙏

🔨 Three months ago, this space was stripped to the studs.

Standing inside, looking around at what we had gotten ourselves into, was terrifying.

And in a strange way, this whole process stripped me down too.

We put everything on the line.

There were times I truly did not believe we would get here.

❤️ The reason I’m standing here now is because of the extraordinary kindness of other people.

So I need to thank some of them:

🏗️ LARA TEDROW Lara Tedrow
Architecture & Interior Design
The creative visionary and brain behind the whole project.

🛠️ JARED CORSON Jared Corson
General Contractor, Woodcraft Contractors
Coordinated all the moving parts & chose not to take a fee himself.

🎨 KIRSTEN WALTER Kirsten Walter
Artist
Created the beautiful oil painting that is now the centerpiece of our lobby.

🤝 KENT WALTER
Tilework & All-Around Help
A new & dear friend who showed up for me again and again.

🧸 JAIMEE VELOTTA Jaimee
Child Therapist & Upstairs Visionary
The child-magician who helped inspire this whole journey.

🪚 TY CHAROUHAS
Trim & Carpentry
My neighbor, who showed up for FOUR DAYS for free when we had no trim.

👧❤️ AMBER CHAROUHAS & HEIDI FINEFROCK
Childcare & Neighborhood “Aunties”
Where my children lived for the last month. 😂

🎨 AND ALL OF OUR PAINT FRIENDS
There were a lot of you. 😅❤️

And two people I could never adequately thank…

❤️ Jake Loy Jake Loy — who basically lived at that building with me for weeks.

❤️ Kindal Kindal Loy — my partner, my friend, my co-laborer — who worked harder than anyone.

We did it. 🥹🏠🎉
And we did not do it alone.

Thank you. ❤️

Robert recommends Unwanted by Jay Stringer as a helpful framework for understanding sexuality, brokenness, and healing.
Rather than focusing only on changing unwanted behaviors, Unwanted invites readers to explore the deeper stories, experiences, and patterns that may be shaping them. By bringing curiosity and compassion to those places, healing can begin to take root.
If you’re looking for a thoughtful resource on sexual brokenness and the path toward greater freedom, this book may be a meaningful place to start.

Sometimes one of the most important things we can learn is that we don’t have to pretend we’re okay.
Jaimee, a child therapist at our Snohomish Child Therapy Clinic, is sharing one of the resources she uses with clients: It’s Okay to Not Be Okay by Anne Kubitsky. This book helps create space for kids to recognize what they’re feeling, talk honestly about hard emotions, and learn that struggling doesn’t have to be hidden behind an “I’m fine.”
Resources like this can be a simple but meaningful way to help children better understand themselves and feel supported in what they’re experiencing.
Follow along as we continue sharing some of our counselors’ favorite resources for growth, healing, and connection.
