Happy Goddess Day! 🌙✨
Why the world is afraid of Friday the 13th when it’s really all about feminine magic…
During the Middle Ages, as Christianity spread across Europe, many older pagan traditions were suppressed or reinterpreted. Sacred symbols connected to the feminine — including the number 13 and the day Friday — slowly gained negative associations.
One influence came from the story of the Last Supper, where 13 people sat at the table, and the 13th guest, Judas, betrayed Jesus. Over time this helped fuel the superstition that 13 was unlucky.
Friday also took on darker meaning in Christian tradition, as several biblical events were believed to have happened on that day — including the crucifixion of Jesus.
Another historical moment strengthened the fear around the date. On Friday, October 13, 1307, Philip IV of France ordered the mass arrest of the Knights Templar, a powerful medieval order. Many were imprisoned, tortured, or executed after accusations of heresy.
These stories helped transform a once sacred feminine day into something people feared.
But long before the superstition…
Friday was the day of the goddess, and 13 was the number of the moon. 🌕
