Oh lawd this is exciting!! History in the making here folks. Caitlin Medicine Frog Kambo and Anura Anura 𓆏 will be offering two back-to-back, co-led group Kambo ceremonies in Richmond, VA this September, just in time for the fall equinox and seasonal transition- a perfect time to downshift into autumn 🍂

These ceremonies will be Anura’s return to service since receiving her diagnosis and now officially being in remission. 🪽

Together, Caitlin and Anura bring more than two decades of combined experience to the field of Kambo. They share the Matsés Acaté lineage, are co-authors of an upcoming book, are co-founders of Kambo Practitioner Collective , and were blessed to be called “daughters” by the late Jhonny Java.

When they’re not teaching, writing, or simply trying to survive, there’s a good chance you’ll find them in the jungle, generously rubbing Tiger Balm in mysterious places to ease the heat while questioning all of their life choices. 🤮

This group ceremony offers harmonious service, rooted in safety, devotion and long-term practice, along with soft, feminine guidance, and a little levity to remind us that life doesn’t have to be so harsh and intense, but community, laughter and gentle healing can be found even in the chaos of the world. 🫂

Together, they hold a space that honors the medicine’s depth with patience, humility, and clarity. 🐸

Ceremonies have been a part of humankind’s relationship with the earth for millennia. Tribes, families, communities all over the world have gathered together in ceremony. For medicine, for prayer, dreamwork, for village council. They are the place where “we remember to remember.” 🦬

Our world moves fast these days, and many of us have forgotten. We are disconnected from nature and have forgotten that we came from nature. We’ve forgotten what it means to live in harmony with the cycles and seasons of the sun and the moon, we’ve forgotten what it means to live in community. Man puts himself first, at the top - and plants, animals, and nature at the bottom. ☀️🌕

When we can sit, intentionally, in moments of ritual, intentionality, prayer, and solace - we remember. What it’s like to slow down, what it’s like to feel the Spirit of nature present with us and within us. What it’s like to have and live in community. 🫂

This is where we relearn how to live in harmony. With each other, with nature, and with ourselves. 🪞

Though it may not be a common or traditional use within the tribes living in the Amazon jungle, for those living in the concrete jungle, Kambo has been a powerful ally in helping people overcome addiction.

The peptides Dermorphin and Deltorphin work with your brain’s opioid receptors, helping to “reset” the system that influences cravings and addictive patterns. The physical detox clears the gut and paves the way for a healthier microbiome to produce serotonin and increase mood.

While Kambo can support this reset on a biological level, the journey to recovery also involves personal work and healing from the root causes of addiction.

One existential Truth: we can only meet people as far as we’ve met ourselves.

We need to meet/explore the dark corners, shadows, vast expanses + limitations of our own mind a thousand times over to know where it comes from, how to navigate it, & how to lever ourselves up + out. Only through dedicated self-inquiry, profound existential contemplation, & quantum consciousness can we know how to guide ourselves (therefore others) out of the crevasses back into the light.

We can only hold space as far/deep as we've gone ourselves; it is impossible to do deep work with/for others without personal practice. Dedication to a personal practice is how we build Trust with ourselves, our service. Those called to us as a friend, advisor, guide, or mentor will trust bc they know edges have been pushed in pursuit of self-innerstanding.

Would you trust a hobbyist to guide you to the summit of Mount Everest if they had only been there once? Twice? Three times? Without teachers, guides, training? There are 17 different routes to the summit. Wouldn't you want your guide to know every possible mistep/potential/reroute?

Know what you need from your facilitator.
-how deep have they gone in their work?
-have they come back in a mentally stable way?
-are they grounded, centered, level-headed, highly educated, well-experienced?
-what trainings/qualifications do they hold?

This work takes time. Integration. Patience. Unfolding.

I've been working with Kambo for 7 years now + have sat with it more than 100x. It’s in my contract with this work.

My deep dives have sent me to far corners - I can hold this space because I've been there.

In my early days (& my medicine ignorance), I water fasted for 5 days w/ 6 kambo sessions, which is actually life-threatening, but water guidelines weren't a thing back then.
I've received medicine straight off the frog 4x (+ 4 more in the next 3 weeks)
I've received from two indigenous tribes/tribe leaders
Recently initiated by Kambo in Ayahuasca
and 27 gates for the ultimate detox

I still have so much to learn. I am forever a student. There are far more ways of serving and receiving that I haven't touched the surface of yet, but I won't serve you these until I go there myself. 🐸

Familia, I've been asked more and more to share my feels, knowledge, perspectives, and educational info around Kambo, and all the many aspects that come along with it (both serving and receiving).

Burning the skin + applying the secretion isn’t even 1% of what's in that little glob of pharmacological magic. All the many talents you have, Your generous heart, the way you navigate through the world, the limitless love you give, the determination you offer life even when it seems to swallow you whole.

The way you walk and the way you laugh - and the ability to laugh at yourself.

Your vulnerability, your courage, your commitment to exploring what it means to be human, the way you show up for your people, the way you carry your deepest desires and the profound dream life you're designing for yourself.

Be in the presence of your own magnificence.
As if you're in the presence of something so vast that it challenges your understanding of the world, like looking up at millions of stars in the night sky, or marveling at the birth of a child. Like standing on the edge of the Grand Canyon, entranced by the northern lights, or the way goosebumps rise when we experience Truth.

How is it possible, something so majestic? So mysterious?

Welcome to a brand new year, my friends. 2022 rocked all of us in different ways. Being a collective numerology year 6 - all relationships were highlighted and for many, were the source of huge challenge… as well as massive healing.

This world is a mirror for our souls. 𝓐𝓼 𝔀𝓲𝓽𝓱𝓲𝓷, 𝓼𝓸 𝔀𝓲𝓽𝓱𝓸𝓾𝓽. The life we see is a reflection of all that we are… and all that we have yet to face within ourselves. With that being said, things do just fu***ng happen. We are not meant to sit in stagnant analyzation of what is, what was, and what will be.

The dark moon symbolizes the dark soil of our psyche... ready to be imprinted with a seed, an intention.
