If you're like me, you can't (or won't?) just take someone's word for s**t, like "you can't love someone into loving you."

Logically, yes, that's true and makes sense...

But living it is a different experience.

And this is why it's important that you learn how to love yourself, even if - especially if - someone can't or won't love you.

This applies in all relationships - friends, family, romance, etc.

Chasing love isn't even chasing "love" - say you actually got what you wanted.

Did you achieve "being loved?" Or did you have to shapeshift, or shrink yourself and your needs in order to receive *conditional "love"*?

What would it look like if you loved yourself the way you want to be loved by others?

For me, I'm learning that's just by taking care of me. Learning how to cook good food for my body. Cleaning my living space. Learning how to connect with my emotions, which so desperately want to be loved and accepted unconditionally.

What is it for you?

I've been pretty much nonexistent on social media for a while, and it honestly was super necessary for me.

For almost a year now, I've had my identity challenged in so many ways that, at times, felt pretty unbearable.

I've had to face parts of myself I didn't even know were still there after a decade of healing.

I met someone who became an incredibly important person in my life who mirrored so many of my own wounds to me from so many different people and areas in my life...

And honestly, it's still an experience I am healing from.

Part of me feels blessed and grateful that I had this experience, that I learned and grew so much as a person, that I got to share a beautiful yet temporary experience with someone...

And part of me also gets stuck on focusing only on the pain and the anger from all of it.

Because of this experience, I've been able to guide many people through their own experiences in my readings and coaching sessions...

So, this was not a pointless or "for nothing" experience.

And neither are the other experiences I've had with other people who I've met and who challenged my boundaries in other ways.

I intend to start showing up on here again, so keep an eye out for more content.

Thanks for reading ❀️❀️❀️

A little over a year ago, Josh Aronovitch did this crazy thing and asked a woman he knew online for only 3 and a half weeks if she wanted to go on a retreat with him and split the cost (oh yeah, it was me πŸ˜‚)
He said to me, "I think you'd be a cool travel buddy."
Which I thought was weird because I had never even been on a plane, nor had I ever left the northeastern US πŸ˜‚

We went to Iceland, where I was absolutely forced out of my comfort zone in so many ways πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

And then, almost 5 months later, I went on another international retreat to the Dominican Republic, facilitated by our friends Kristina Murphy and Lauren Elizabeth.

Both Iceland and DR cracked my heart open in ways that I never could have imagined.

This November, Josh, Kristina, and I are hosting a 10 day retreat to Morocco from the 5th through the 15th, and I have absolutely no doubt that this retreat will transform the lives of everyone who attends. This is going to be big.

Everyone who goes will receive exactly what they need and more.

If you want to know more, drop a πŸ’œ and we will reach out personally with the deets 😁

Do you feel like what you do is enough?
...ever?

Over the last few years of doing the deep healing, the shadow work, exploration into my subconscious, I have found that I have this pattern: "No matter what I do, it will never be enough." (This is not a forever thing btw.)

The bar is ALWAYS MOVING because - I - am the one moving it.

I rarely celebrate my accomplishments because there is always the NEXT THING to do.

The "next thing" is usually motivated by some kind of fear - fear of losing a connection/love, of not being enough, of becoming a failure, of ending up broke, of losing someone's approval, etc.

Guess what - this bleeds into everyyytthhiinnggg in your life.

Every relationship.

It shows up in relationships by doing things for the other person, no matter the dynamic, to receive their attention, whether positive or negative. It doesn't matter which - you just need their attention.

It shows up by constantly being available for everyone 24/7, taking responsibility for the emotions of the people around you, doing things/favors to prove your worth, not setting boundaries because you fear deep down that a boundary means losing the person on the receiving end...

Remember, being caring, loving, generous, all those traits are *amazing things* when channeled appropriately.

There is *nothing* wrong with you if you learned that you had to be someone or something in order to receive love.

Your superpowers are love, kindness, generosity, caring, all of it.

And, your superpowers are way more effective if you can do it all with an open heart *while* setting boundaries and understanding that when someone withdraws their love because you set that boundary, that's conditional love. You don't want that.

Don't sacrifice your love and respect for yourself so you can receive "love" from someone who really isn't capable of loving you the way you need to be loved.

It's okay. There are 8 billion people on the planet. There are people out there who will and do love you as you are without you needing to do or change anything.

You'll see it every time you show up for yourself.

I used to be the kind of person who tried to be everything for everyone because to me, that felt like love, purpose, and I felt like I mattered.

I'd say yes when I wanted to say no, I'd stay late at work *off the clock* to be a "team player", I'd stay silent when I wanted to speak up because I was afraid of offending people. I would cross my own boundaries because only then would I be accepted.

I wanted to be loved by everyone, and I wasn't loving myself.

I didn't even know what loving myself looked like until I started to prioritize my own health, happiness, and wellbeing.

I booked international retreats, set boundaries, took small steps out of hiding, spoke up for myself, and learned that if someone stopped loving me when I started to be the authentic me, it was because my smallness benefitted them somehow. They didn't actually love ME because I never allowed myself to be seen.

If you can't say no without drowning in guilt...
If you've lost yourself in the endless cycle of making everyone else happy...
If you're tired of feeling lovable only when you're useful...
You're not broken or selfish for wanting more...

And you're definitely not alone.

With all of that said...

The "Return to You" retreat is for the helpers, the fixers, the people-pleasers who are ready to remember that they matter, too.

Simply because *you exist*.

4 days and 3 nights at the south Jersey Shore (7/10 - 7/13), where we (myself and Josh Aronovitch) work with you to help you reconnect with your own needs, remember who you were before you valuated yourself based on the needs of the people around you, and where you learn that loving yourself isn't selfish (it never was.)

This retreat is tailored to every individual who signs up - in the comments you will find a google docs link with more information. At the bottom of the document is an application where you can tell us where you are in life right now and what you're looking to receive from us. Limited scholarship spots available.

Discounts for couples/pairs (can be friends, doesn't have to be romantic πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ)

You are enough exactly as you are, and you will know that by the end of this retreat.

I recently gave a reading to a young woman.

The reading was supposed to last 5-minutes, but turned into an enotional 30-minute coaching session.

She was a little me.

I'd pulled only a few cards. The cards and my intuition told me she was extremely self-critical. So I asked her, "Are you constantly judging and criticizing yourself?"

She said yes, all the time.

She judges herself for not being where she thought she is supposed to be by now.

She also negatively judges her appearance.

I asked her what she liked about herself.

She said "Nothing."

I told her what I could see in her that she could love.

I told her that I could feel the love she so freely gives to others, the light she shines, and I could also feel how she wouldn't give any of it to herself.

I gently challenged all of her beliefs, asked the appropriate questions to guide her to her own mental shifts, and also provided alternative perspectives that were compassionate and loving.

I knew what questions I needed to ask her to pull the shadows out that were keeping her trapped within herself - but the only reason I know is because I've been there myself.

The shadows came out as tears and vulnerability.

I shared my own experiences with her to show her that it's possible to live a life that isn't so charged.

It is possible to find freedom within yourself.

It starts with giving yourself permission.

This is what I do in both my readings and my coaching sessions.

I help set people free from the binds they've created for themselves, and the binds society has put on them.

If you're feeling like life is overwhelming, you're constantly running from "failure," or you're always pouring from an empty cup, I invite you to reach out and we can gently reconnect you back to yourself.
