📖 LITTLE LEARNING FROM UP NORTH (at home)
🐾 So excited...he forgot there was a screen
Well...Winston (our Grandpuppy) was just a little excited. 😄
He was so happy to see Ramsey that he ran right through the screen door without realizing it was even there. The screen didn't stand a chance.
It gave us all a good laugh.
And honestly, it became this week's little learning.
This weekend wasn't about checking projects off the list. It wasn't about finishing the camper or getting more work done.
It was simply about being together.
We had the kids and Winston home for a quick visit. Good conversations. A few laughs. Dogs playing. Time slowing down.
Sometimes we forget that our nervous systems need these moments.
We often think we have to "earn" rest after everything else gets done. But our bodies were designed to experience connection, joy, laughter, and quiet moments along the way.
🌿 A few simple ways to practice being present this week:
❤️ Put your phone down for a few minutes.
🐾 Watch your pet instead of rushing to the next task.
🌲 Step outside and simply notice what you hear.
🌬️ Take five slow, deep breaths before your meal.
👨👩👧👦 Give someone your full attention during a conversation.
🙏 End your day by thinking of three things you're thankful for.
Little moments may not seem important, but they help calm the nervous system, lower stress, and remind our bodies that we are safe.
And sometimes, the best memories happen before we even realize we're making them. Such as watching it happen live or telling everyone the story of how Winston BLEW through the Screen Door!
Have a wonderful week, friends. ❤️
