Serving the community for over 25 years. Dr. Victor “Rocky” Romano is proud and excited that his daughter, Dr. Maria McGann, has joined his practice. Born and raised in Oak Park/ River Forest, they both enjoy giving back to the community in which they grew up and where they continue to live. At Romano Orthopaedics Center (ROC), we are committed to treating everyone like family. ROC physicians like

to give back to their local community and to the world. You may find them working as team physicians on the sidelines of Dominican University soccer and Fenwick High School football games. Romano and McGann have traveled to Honduras several times to volunteer their time and talents, providing orthopaedic care to those in need. Dr. Romano also volunteered in Haiti, immediately following their devastating earthquake. At ROC, we are excellent at what we do. We have the experience and the attention to detail to insure you are receiving Top Shelf Care.

-We promise to see, diagnose, and treat your injury in a timely manner.

-We are constantly striving to deliver best practices to all our patients.

Physical Therapy Exercises for Recovery From a Clavicle Fracture.

🦴 What is Fracture Prevention?
Fracture prevention focuses on keeping bones strong and reducing the risk of broken bones before they happen.
As we age, bone loss can quietly increase the risk of “fragility fractures” — fractures that happen from simple falls or everyday activities.
The most common areas affected are:
• Spine
• Hip
• Wrist
The good news? There’s a lot you can do to protect your bone health.
✔️ Bone density testing (DEXA scans)
✔️ Strength & balance exercises
✔️ Calcium + Vitamin D
✔️ Fall prevention strategies
✔️ Early osteoporosis treatment when needed
At ROC Bone Institute, our Fracture Prevention Program helps patients better understand their bone health and take proactive steps to stay active and independent.
Because prevention is always better than recovery. 🦴

🦴 What is Osteoporosis?
Osteoporosis is a condition where bones become weak, porous, and more likely to break — often without warning signs.
Healthy bone has a strong internal structure. With osteoporosis, that structure becomes thinner and less dense over time, making bones fragile and easier to fracture.
These are called “fragility fractures,” and they most commonly happen in the:
• Spine
• Hip
• Wrist
The scary part? Many people don’t know they have osteoporosis until a fracture happens.
That’s why early screening and prevention matter.
✔️ Bone density testing (DEXA scan)
✔️ Strength training
✔️ Proper calcium & vitamin D
✔️ Staying active

May is Osteoporosis Awareness Month 🦴
Osteoporosis is often called a “silent disease”—because most people don’t know they have it until a fracture changes everything.
At ROC Bone Institute, we focus on prevention first—because staying active starts with strong bones.
If you’re over 50, postmenopausal, or have risk factors, a simple DEXA scan can give you clarity before there’s a problem.
