Welcome, to Asahi Nordic Chicagoland!
Asahi is a gentle mindful movement practice from Finland that involves simple, fluid body movements that are synchronized with the breath. Asahi can be done by anyone, of any age, or any ability. Regular Asahi practice has been reported by its practitioners to enhance flexibility, increase balance, and decrease joint discomfort. Based on comments made by regular Asahi students, those practicing Asahi in a group (whether in person or virtually) are more likely to continue their mindful exercise practice consistently than those exercising alone.
So, I invite you, today, to consider beginning your own Asahi journey regardless of where you are in your life, your abilities, or in the world. All are welcome! As Shel Silverstein said in one of his poems, “Come in, Come in.”
