“Hitting rock bottom is the only way someone changes.” → Rock bottom kills people. Early intervention saves lives. You don’t have to lose everything before you deserve help.

“Once an addict, always an addict.” → Recovery is real, lasting, and happening every single day. Identity is not a sentence.

The truth about addiction isn’t comfortable. But it’s the only thing that saves lives. Shame built on lies keeps people stuck. Understanding built on truth sets them free.

Save this for the next time someone repeats a myth in front of you. Share it with someone who needs to hear that help is still on the table.

We know the orphans, the widows, the fuqara and masakeen — they’re the easiest vulnerable to spot. But there are new vulnerable people in our communities we rarely speak about. 🤲
New Muslims. And our youth (12-26) — being preyed upon on purpose. Multinational corporations are seeking out their hearts, chasing addiction through gaming, online gambling, po*******hy, and excessive online shopping. This isn’t accidental. It’s targeted.
Our brotherhood and sisterhood is measured by how we protect them. Save this and start the conversation in your community. 🕊️

Before you call it spiritual, eliminate biology first. 🧠
There’s an order to understanding someone’s struggle: biology first, then psychology (their moods, attitude, emotional states, what they’ve been through), then environment — because people in Long Beach don’t live the same reality as people in Irvine.
Abu Huraira (RA) gives us the earliest lesson in this. Pre-Islamic Arabs believed seizures meant someone was majnun (possessed) — they’d pin the person face-down with a foot on their neck to “exorcise” the jinn. One day Abu Huraira collapsed from hunger walking into the masjid. The brothers did the same thing to him. His response: “I’m not majnun, I’m just hungry.”
Don’t skip straight to spiritual diagnosis. Rule out the body first. Save this — it might change how you show up for someone struggling. 🤍

Unprocessed trauma doesn’t just fade — it moves into the body. 🧠➡️🫀
Depression, anxiety, chronic illness, autoimmune disease... so much of it traces back to emotions that were never processed, never released, never given space to heal. Your nervous system keeps score long after your mind tries to move on.
Healing isn’t just mental — it’s physical. Start listening to what your body has been trying to tell you.
Save this as a reminder to check in with yourself today. 🤍

When someone’s amygdala is activated, their frontal cortex shuts off. 🧠
That’s why arguing logic with an angry person never works — their brain’s executive functioning, decision-making, and processing are literally offline. They’re not “not listening.” They’re not able to.
So instead of pushing information at someone stuck in fight-or-flight, meet them where they are first. Match their tone. Validate the intensity: “I can’t believe that happened, that’s really intense.” Then gently guide them back down — because the real conversation can’t happen in survival mode.
This is co-regulation, and it’s one of the most powerful communication tools there is — in therapy, relationships, and everyday hard conversations.
📌 Save this for the next time someone you love is too activated to hear you.

Ever notice how one person’s energy can completely shift the room? 😮‍💨 That’s co-regulation.
When someone comes to you elevated — angry, grieving, dysregulated — the instinct is to say “calm down.” But real co-regulation starts with matching their state first. Validate it: “Yeah, that sounds really difficult.” Then slowly soften your tone, open your body language, and take deeper breaths.
Your nervous system speaks to their nervous system before your words even land.
This is a core piece of nervous system regulation, trauma-informed care, and emotional intelligence — and it shows up everywhere: relationships, parenting, hard conversations at work.

📌 Save this for the next time someone comes to you dysregulated.

🔁 Share with someone who holds space for others.
