Why are my teeth so sensitive to cold and sweets? 🦷

Sensitivity is one of the most common complaints we hear - and yes, even Dr. Espino deals with it personally.

Some sensitivity is completely normal. But when it becomes disruptive, there are real solutions. Fluoride toothpastes and rinses help strengthen enamel. Sensitive toothpastes like Sensodyne contain additional compounds that plug the microscopic pores in the tooth surface - essentially insulating the tooth and reducing sensitivity, especially around the gum line.

Keep in mind - persistent sensitivity can also be a sign of tooth decay or gum issues. If it is not going away, it is worth seeing a dentist.

How long do ceramic veneers actually last? 🦷

With proper care, 20 years or more is a realistic expectation.

The two biggest factors are gum health and how you use your teeth. Poor gum hygiene leads to bone loss and recession - which exposes the margin of the veneer and affects the appearance over time. And using your teeth as tools - opening packages, tearing tags off clothing - puts unnecessary pressure on the restorations and shortens their lifespan.
