Day 5/30 sharing about myself and my practice. I am a longtime pug owner! My current pug bestie Frodo is from Pug Rescue of Korea. He will be joining me on 9/26 to host yoga at Big Lick Brewing Company. 100% of the proceeds will benefit Pug Rescue of Korea, supporting their ongoing vet costs while they save puggies in need. We’d love it if you joined us for yoga! If you can’t join but still want to support pugs in need, you can always make a donation on their website.

Day 4/30 sharing about my practice. Today is Su***de Prevention Day, which feels like a fitting time to share why I’m so passionate about mental health and su***de prevention. After I got out of the Marine Corps, I studied music therapy at University of Miami. Within the first week, a fellow Marine Vet asked, “I have PTSD, what can music therapy do for me?” I genuinely didn’t know, but I decided I really wanted to know! That was around 2013, when an average of 22 Veterans per Day were dying by su***de. I’ve continued to work with my fellow Veterans and with trauma survivors from other backgrounds. I’ve found that music can provide validation, support, and encouragement when we need it the most. If you or a loved one needs additional crisis support, you can call 988 for the su***de hotline. If you want to know more about how music therapy can support you in addressing your mental health goals, reach out! ***depreventionmonth ***deawarness

Day 3/30 of sharing about my practice. Today, I want to speak about my stance on AI. Peak Music and Wellness does not now and will not ever use AI. As a creative and someone who loves the natural world, I am deeply concerned by the growth of data centers and AI. As a therapist, I am concerned about the ethical and privacy implications of AI in clinical spaces. I do not incorporate AI into my practice. That is a promise.

Day 2/30 sharing my story and my practice with you! Today, I’m sharing a bit about how I got here. After high school, I really wasn’t sure what I wanted in my life. I’d heard of music therapy but didn’t really understand it. All I knew was that I wanted to make music every day. I decided to enlist as a Marine Corps Musician, serving from 07-11 playing flute in the Marine Corps Band New Orleans. I quickly realized that this was not my long-term path. I wanted to use music to help others. I attended a music therapy workshop in 2010, which solidified my goals. I wanted to become a music therapist. I EASed (end of active service) in 2011, completing my Associates in 2012 and transferring to University of Miami. I studied Music Therapy in one of the most beautiful places with fabulous instructors! I also discovered my passion for working in mental health. I began working at the Miami VA Hospital after graduation, completing my Masters degree through a hybrid program at Saint Mary of the Woods College. While in my Masters program, I had the chance to experience Guided Imagery and Music. During that training, I had a deeply personal experience relating to my own trauma. I realized I HAD to explore this, both personally and professionally. I’ve engaged in personal GIM therapy ever since and have also completed my training to provide GIM therapy in 2025. This is a long and taxing training program, but it was worth every ounce of effort. This is my favorite approach as a music therapist! I transferred from the Miami VA to the Salem VA, where I worked until recently. I loved every opportunity to support my fellow veterans as they worked to improve their mental and emotional wellbeing. I founded my private practice in 2021, choosing to fully embrace the private practice life in 2026. I am currently accepting new clients, both virtually and in person!

Hi there! I’m Krystine, music therapist and founder of Peak Music and Wellness, LLC. I’m reintroducing myself and my practice with 30 days of posts telling you about myself, my services, and my goals as a clinician and as a person. I am a life long musician. Though I play a number of different instruments including guitar, ukulele, and piano - my real love is for my flute. I don’t always get use my flute clinically, but I never go far without a flute nearby. I really love to be outside going for hikes, being near water, and even just resting in a quiet peaceful place. My partner and I do not have children, but we have a cat Lizzie and a pug Frodo who we love dearly. Our first pug Mr. Darcy passed away last year, but will always hold a special place in our hearts. As their names indicate, we are huge nerds! I love to read and am particularly a fan of fantasy. I’m an avid Renaissance faire attendee and spent my teen years dreaming of being in Middle Earth. As a bisexual, cisgendered woman with loved ones of many different identities, I value providing affirming, affordable, accessible, trauma informed care to all people. I offer music therapy, guided imagery and music, private yoga instruction, and community wellness groups virtually and in person! Contact me to learn more today.

New community wellness offering! Beginning September 14 at noon, you can join Peak Music and Wellness for a virtual music meditation practice. Every Monday, you’ll have the chance to engage in a guided relaxation with 45 minutes of supportive, meditative music. Research has found that music can support relaxation and meditation in so many ways! Music supports us in being in the present moment, regulating our emotions, releasing neurotransmitters like dopamine and serotonin, and facilitating stress reduction. Our bodies naturally entrain to rhythm, so meditative music with slower rhythms can help us slow our breathing and heart rate, reduce our blood pressure, and slow our bodies down. This is a free offering! If you would like to make a donation in support of continued community music & wellness groups, we do have a link in the bio. I hope you’ll join me on 9/14 for our first Monday Music Meditation! You can register here https://linktr.ee/peakmusicandwellness.
