There's something quietly special about linden (Tillia spp.)
For generations, the fragrant blossoms of the linden tree have been gathered throughout China, Europe and North America for teas and traditional herbal preparations. I have come to love them just as much in skincare, where they leave the skin feeling beautifully soft, refreshed, and comforted.

My own connection to linden began more than 20 years ago while I was studying abroad at Xiamen University in Xiamen, Fujian Province, China. Without realizing it, I was introduced to linden through a popular bottled tea. It wasn't until decades later, when I began enjoying linden as an herbal tea (one of the first botanicals I began working with), that I recognized the sweet, familiar fragrance. In an instant, I was transported back to my time in China. It's amazing how a single botanical can carry a memory across decades.

That appreciation inspired this newest small batch: a linden flower and leaf witch hazel botanical toner. Naturally rich in plant mucilage and botanical antioxidants, linden is treasured for leaving skin feeling soft, refreshed, comfortably hydrated, and beautifully conditioned.

Each of our botanical toners has its own personality:

🌹 Rose — tone and radiance.
🌼 Calendula — nourishment and renewal.
🤍 Chamomile — gentle comfort.
🌿 Linden — softness and hydration.

There isn't one that's "better" than another—they simply celebrate different botanicals and the unique character each brings to your skincare routine.

Today marks the debut of this botanical toner.

If you're stopping by a market this week or weekend, I'd love to introduce you to linden.

Whether you're drawn to rose for toning and radiance, calendula for nourishment, chamomile for gentle comfort, or linden for softness and hydration, there's a botanical waiting to become part of your skincare ritual.

What scent(s) have you experienced that instantly brought back a cherished memory?

Coming off another wonderful week of farmers markets, we are thankful.

Wednesday marked my first Huntington Farmer's Market followed by a beautiful Friday evening in Roanoke at the Roanoke Farmers Market and Saturday morning at the Whitley County Farmers Market. Each market had its own unique rhythm.

We were also grateful for the incredible music provided by Chelsea Dourson of Chelsea Dourson Music and her husband, Chris, on both Friday evening and Saturday morning. Her gift added such a special touch to the market atmospheres and made the experiences even more enjoyable.

Live music has a way of making an already special market feel even more welcoming. More than anything, I'm thankful for the conversations and connections.

One market guest introduced me to a beneficial plant I hadn't yet explored, while so many others shared the ways they're using the plants growing right in their own yards to support themselves and their families. I never get tired of hearing these stories. There is something special about watching people reconnect with the gifts God has woven into His creation.

A special thank you to Hawks Homestead Co. for lending a hand with our canopy setup. It's one more reminder that farmers markets are about community just as much as they are about local products.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to visit, ask questions, share your experiences, and encourage us. I look forward to seeing many of you again this week in Huntington on Wednesday evening, Roanoke on Friday evening and Whitley County on Saturday!

Some days, the plants do all the talking.

Our hibiscus is bursting with blooms right now, each blossom lasting only a day or two before making way for the next. Their deep fuchsia petals are impossible to miss, but their beauty is only part of the story.

For generations, herbalists have cherished hibiscus for the gifts it brings to both skin and body. The blossoms are naturally rich in antioxidants and other beneficial plant compounds, making them a favorite in herbal teas and botanical skincare traditions alike.
In the past, we have used the dried petals to create a ruby red witch hazel toner. Don’t worry, it doesn’t dye your skin.

Traditionally, hibiscus has also been enjoyed as a vibrant herbal tea, valued for its refreshing flavor and naturally occurring plant compounds.
It's one more reminder that some of the most beautiful plants on the property have so much more to offer than their appearance.

At Feighner Farm Natural Products, we love taking the time to learn what each plant contributes and honoring those gifts through simple, whole-plant botanical preparations.

What's your favorite flower in the garden right now? 🌺

Sometimes new beginnings are born from difficult circumstances.

After losing several of our hens to a sneaky raccoon over the past week, we decided it was finally time to begin something we've wanted to do for some time, our very first hatch.

Today we dated and numbered each egg, tucked them safely into the incubator, and started the 21-day countdown. We’ll be keeping a daily log of the temperature and humidity as we learn the rhythms of incubation together.

One of the greatest joys of farm life is having a front-row seat to God's creation. From the herbs we harvest for our botanical skincare to the promise held inside a tiny egg, His design is intricate, purposeful, and nothing short of amazing.

We're excited to share this journey with you. Here's to our inaugural hatch! 🐣🌿

What a beautiful weekend of connection. 🌿

We are coming away from another wonderful market weekend feeling incredibly grateful for the conversations, stories, and warm welcomes we continue to receive.

This Saturday was our first Saturday at the Whitley County Farmers Market, and we could not have felt more welcomed. It was such a joy to meet new faces, reconnect with familiar ones, and hear your stories of navigating your skin as it changes through the seasons of life.

We love hearing from those who are seeking a simpler, more intentional approach to skincare & wellness, choosing whole plant botanicals and products created with care directly from the earth around us. 🌱

A special thank you to our fellow vendors who make these markets such a wonderful community: Country Roads Coffee, Flour and Field, Jennifer (our fearless market leader) from Esterline Farms and the Whitley County Chamber and so many others who bring their passion and creativity each week.

We are excited to continue the season with the Huntington Farmer's Market on Wednesday evenings 4pm-7pm and the Roanoke Farmers Market on Friday evenings from 5pm-8pm.

Thank you for welcoming us into your communities. We are grateful to grow alongside you. 🤍
