We're proud to share that Dr. Sarah Hayes was invited to Montreal, Canada, this June to participate in the prestigious Eriksholm Workshop, "Maladaptive Plasticity in the Human Auditory System: Development of a Translational Research Agenda."

Dr. Hayes joined 20 leading scientists from around the world to discuss the latest research on maladaptive plasticity in the auditory system and to help shape a future research agenda that bridges discoveries in human studies, animal models, and computational modeling.

Also representing the University of Rochester was Dr. Laurel Carney from the Department of Biomedical Engineering and a key member of our Hearing & Balance Collective.

The workshop, hosted by the world-renowned Eriksholm Research Centre, focused on building scientific consensus about what is currently known in the field and identifying the most promising directions for future research. The outcomes of these discussions will be published in a consensus paper summarizing the current evidence and outlining priorities for the next generation of auditory research.

Congratulations to Dr. Hayes and Dr. Carney on their contributions to this important international collaboration!
