In our office, a consultation is simply a conversation where we speak for a bit and see if we are a good fit for each other. After all, we’re not a "one size fits all" type of office, so, doesn’t it make sense to discover that before you begin a relationship with our practice? We think so, and hopefully – so do you. ary conditions: relieving pain, reducing inflammation, and improving range of motion. Even though all of the above is accomplished, the results are merely temporary. Traditional chiropractic gets rid of the "result of the problem" but not the problem itself. Neuro-Structural Chiropractic approach targets the Primary Condition causing the symptoms, a Neuro-Structural shift. At Axis Chiropractic we detect these shifts, structural abnormalities of the spine, causing the secondary conditions described above. Our peripheral nerve system travels through our entire body - every system, organ and cell - and through our spine. The spine protects our central nerve system. By directing the spine to what is considered a "normal" structure, pressure on the discs and the nerves can return to normal. Our Spine is the foundation of our health. A healthy spine will promote a healthy life.

Patients, Family and Friends,

I recently received a kind message from a patient who simply wanted to let me know they had received a really good adjustment. Truthfully, messages like that come in more often than you might think, and I never want to take them for granted.

Every note, every word of encouragement, and every time someone shares that they are feeling better means a great deal to me. It is a reminder of why I love what I do and why I have dedicated my life to helping people function at their best.

I also want to thank all of you for the trust and loyalty you continue to show this office. One of the greatest compliments I can receive is when you refer your family, friends, and co-workers to me. When you send someone you care about into my office, it tells me more than words ever could.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you. You are not just patients, you are the reason this work is so meaningful and the reason I continue to love doing it every day.

Patients, Family, and Friends,

Recently, I went to pick up my son while he was out playing with friends. Just before I arrived, one of the boys had snapped his bike in half and it wasn't going anywhere. Wolfie asked if we could give him a ride down the hill, but since he lived only a little farther away, we loaded him and his broken bike into the truck and took him home.

The young man was appreciative, but when we arrived and unloaded everything, his father never made eye contact or said thank you. He may have been having a bad day or he may have just been miffed at the predicament, but it seemed odd.

Now, I didn’t agree to help him for a thank you, but simple courtesy and gratitude still go a long way in promoting goodwill. It was a reminder that life is better when we manage our expectations and don’t become attached to outcomes.

That same lesson applies to health. I do not place expectations on exactly how or when someone improves. Instead, I trust the Innate wisdom of the body and know that every time you get off the table you are better and your body is more fully expressing its natural ability to heal.

If you know someone who is not living their best life: physically, mentally, or emotionally, please refer them in. Sometimes all someone needs is the right opportunity to begin moving in a healthier direction.

Patients, Family and Friends,

While on holiday in Mexico, I had the chance to play some sand volleyball with my kids. It started off simple enough, just fun in the sun... until the resort’s scheduled games began. Some of you may not know that I played quite a bit of volleyball in my younger years, so naturally I joined in.

As the games progressed, the skill level rose… and so did some of the attitudes. I always try to keep things light, keep everyone involved, and keep spirits up, but some of the younger, more competitive players couldn’t help themselves and let a little trash talk slip through.

So, I decided to humble them.

The problem? My mind remembered exactly how to play at that level… but my body, not properly stretched or conditioned, did not. The young boys soon retreated back to the pool while I stayed to congratulate the remaining good sports on both sides of the net. And because I got carried away, I spent the rest of the vacation hobbling around on sore knees and reaching with painful shoulders.

It was a reminder I want to share with you: you have to Use It or Lose It mentally, spiritually, and physically. Staying active, staying engaged, and taking care of your body consistently is what keeps you functioning well, not just in the moment, but for years to come. Don't let another month go by and let your family members or friends suffer when the answer is obvious.

Patients, Friends and Family,

Daylight Saving Time seems to throw a monkey wrench into the week every year. Kids especially struggle with the change, and many schools even see higher absences the Monday after because everyone is a little more tired than usual.

A little confusion from clocks reading different times is minor compared to the confusion that can occur in a subluxated nerve system. Spinal misalignment can interfere with the body’s communication system and may contribute to symptoms such as headaches, vertigo, high blood pressure, impotence, infertility, and many others. Chiropractic is not the cure for any disease. Your body’s internal wisdom can heal and function at its best when there is a clear signal to and from the brain. For a few weeks, our house had no heat. We adjusted, layered up, and told ourselves it wasn’t that bad. But the truth is, it affected everything — sleep, energy, mood, and even simple daily routines.

When the heat was finally restored, the relief was immediate. It reminded me how powerful one missing piece can be.

Health works the same way. When one important part of your body isn’t functioning the way it should, it quietly becomes all-consuming. You adapt. You push through. And before long, “normal” isn’t really normal anymore.

Family, Friends, and Patients,

I have a big fig tree in my backyard. Every year when I trim it back, I save the cuttings and root them to grow new trees.

This year, I forgot.

Whether Wolfie and I were having too much fun cutting things down, or the weather shifted and the weekend slipped away, the result was the same, I missed the opportunity to root this year’s cuttings.

For a moment, I caught myself wanting to beat myself up over it. But instead, I decided to give myself some grace.

We all fall down. We all make mistakes. And far too often, we torture ourselves much longer than is useful.

The only real purpose of a mistake is to learn from it, so we can do better next time.

I see this same pattern with some of my older patients who get discouraged about letting their spines deteriorate past the point of correction. The lesson isn’t regret, it’s action. Make sure your kids and grand kids are under the care of a good chiropractor.

If they’re far away, let me know and I may be able to help find someone reputable near them. If they’re local, invite them to our New Patient Meeting this Tuesday evening at 6:00 PM.

Grace means learning the lesson and passing it on.

Recently, my wife and I traveled all the way to Chicago to celebrate a birthday with good friends. It was a long way to go—but that’s what showing up looks like. You make the effort because relationships matter.

Friends, Family and Patients,

Every once in a while, I’m reminded just how special it is to adjust the spine and clear the nervous system of interference.

After 28 years in practice, I’ve seen some truly amazing things. The body’s potential to heal is so drastically underestimated that many people still believe chiropractors only help with back pain and headaches.

And while we absolutely help with those, every so often the real magic of chiropractic shows up.

It doesn’t matter what walks—or is carried—into my office, because the solution always comes with it. Over the years I’ve seen cases of migraines, heartburn, asthma, allergies, impotence, and high blood pressure walk in… and clear up.

I don’t have a “can’t get pregnant” adjustment any more than I have one for asthma. What I do have is a way to help the body function the way it was designed to—by removing interference from the nervous system and allowing it to heal from the inside out.

That’s the power of chiropractic.
Not treating symptoms—supporting the body’s innate ability to heal itself.
