There are no Family Monthly Support Group Meetings in June, July or August so mark your calendars for Sept. 3! However, we will continue the Adults and Parents of Adults Monthly Support Group Meetings through the summer!

Sadly, a pedestrian is killed every 74 minutes in traffic crashes. Remember, at some point in the day EVERYONE is a pedestrian:

🚶‍➡️ Follow the rules of the road
🚶‍➡️ Use crosswalks when available
🚶‍➡️ Walk on sidewalks when available

🚘 Look out for pedestrians and minimize blind spots
🚘 Be careful in hard-to-see conditions
🚘 Yield to pedestrians in crosswalks

This is a great resource for local support with driving concerns by the Kennesaw police department. Adaptable Driving offers driving evaluations to help assist with a comprehensive review of fitness to drive.

Giving up one’s license is never easy, as driving helps maintain independence and avoid isolation. The AARP offers a free online seminar (aarp.org/auto/driver-safety/we-need-to-talk) to help you assess your loved one’s driving skills and provide tools to help you have this important conversation.

If your loved one does not agree that it is unsafe for him or her to continue to drive, you can request that the Department of Driver Services (DDS) review the situation. Upon submission of Form DDS-270, the Department of Driver Services (DDS) will review a driver’s ability to drive safely.
