đź’ś COME STAND WITH US TONIGHT. SHOW THESE FAMILIES THEY ARE NOT ALONE.

Join us this evening as we remember the lives lost to overdose and accidental poisoning, support the families who carry that grief, and come together as a community to help prevent future loss.

📅 Tonight — August 31
🕕 6:00–8:00 PM
📍 Chaves County Courthouse

The evening will include:

đź’ś Remembrance display honoring lives lost
🎵 Music
đź“– Chaves County proclamation
🗣️ Personal stories from local families
đź’ś Overdose prevention and community resources

đź’ś HELP US PUT FACES TO THE LIVES WE REMEMBER

Behind every overdose or accidental poisoning is a person who was loved — a son or daughter, a parent, sibling, grandchild, partner or friend.

For our Overdose Awareness Glowstick Vigil, we are creating individual memorials like the one pictured here to honor the people our community has lost.

We need your photos before Monday.

If you would like your loved one included, please email:

đź“· A clear photograph
đź’ś Their full name
🕊️ Their “forever age”

to [email protected]

There is no shame and no judgment. We will not identify how your loved one died or share details about their circumstances. Their memorial will focus on the person and the life that mattered.

We want people to see their faces. We want people to know their names.

Every life mattered. Every story deserves to be remembered.

REMEMBER. PREVENT. SUSTAIN.

Hagerman Club Opening Update

We are getting closer to opening the doors of the Hagerman Club, and we want to thank everyone for your continued patience and understanding as we work through these final steps.

At this time, we are waiting for two remaining inspections to be completed before we can officially open. We have submitted everything we can at this point, and if anything additional is requested, we will work to complete it as quickly as possible.

One of the main inspections we are waiting on can take up to 30 days to get scheduled. Unfortunately, this timeline is outside of our control, but we will continue doing everything we can on our end to make sure we are ready when the inspection takes place.

We know everyone is anxious to hear an opening date, and we are just as excited to get started! Because we do not currently know when the remaining inspections will take place, we are unable to provide an opening date yet. As soon as we have a confirmed date, we will make sure everyone knows.

We truly appreciate the patience and support the Hagerman community has shown us as we finish these last few requirements.

If you have questions, please call us at 575-550-5001, extension 103.

Please continue to follow our social media pages for the latest updates. We can't wait to open our doors and welcome the kids and families of Hagerman!

Behind every overdose statistic is a face. A name. A family. A life that mattered.

“Somebody’s baby. Somebody’s parent. Somebody’s sibling. Somebody’s best friend.”

In this article, Jeneva Martinez writes about why Overdose Awareness Day is about more than mourning. It’s about remembering people as people—not by the circumstances of their deaths.

It’s also about prevention. Education. Naloxone. Resources. Supporting grieving families. And creating a community where we can talk openly about substance use, accidental poisoning and overdose without judgment.

We encourage you to take a few minutes and read Jeneva’s article.

Then look at the faces. Say their names. Remember their lives.

Because breaking stigma starts when we stop looking away.

đź’ś REMEMBER. PREVENT. SUSTAIN.

Families who would like their loved one included in our remembrance display may submit a photograph, full name and “forever age” by August 21 to [email protected].

Please read and share. Someone in your circle may need to see it.
