ed by their creativity and excitement to learn and experiment. I am thankful that the children I teach and my own children inspired me to pick up a paintbrush again. I decided to paint our first born – Atticus, a weimaraner, one afternoon and have been painting “man’s best friend” ever since! For commissioned pieces, I enjoy hearing stories about the dog and his family before I begin painting. I always start with the eyes and expression – they tell so much about a dog and that is my favorite part of the painting process. These animals mean so much to their owners, I know first hand from growing up with dogs. It is truly an honor to provide a lasting memory in a work of art.
